Burnley tickets "coming soon"?

My tracking reference shows it’s so called ‘track’ timings. City we’re suppose to have sent it ‘48hr tracked’ on 2nd August it arrived at Preston sorting office today 6 days later - it’s just over 30 miles away - they could have walked the bloody thing there quicker than that ! It’s supposed to be delivered now tomorrow
Finally got through to the ticket office just now and they sent me a tracking number. It was supposedly sent by City on August 2 but only arrived in Preston today! But there is no way to contact Royal Mail by phone to check! The Sheffield United tickets sent out apparently also do not have tracking numbers which means people will have to phone the ticket office if they want to track their delivery. The sooner this is all digitised the better. I got my mobile Wembley ticket and the one for Brighton away last season within minutes of purchasing online. It is not rocket science.

I have double checked. There is no tracking number nor on my Sheffield United one. Still no answer on the phones
Only tracking reference I got was on the email from royal mail, nothing on the order confirmation email from City

This is par for the course. City could send out earlier, but Royal Mail have been touch and go for about a year with these deliveries. I often get no post for 4/5 days then a lot at once.

It is worse when you want to get your tickets and go somewhere else en route for a day or two.

Like Hebden Bridge en route to Burnley?

Which brings back memories of this:

Direct train now of course, but penultimate one back maybe touch and go at 22.39 with a few VARs so relying on the 23.39 turning up.

May be worthwhile paying £1 to return on the X43 at 2240 as the bus station is close to the ground.

"We've received your parcel from Manchester City Football Club Ltd. Delivery is due:

Thursday, 10 August 2023*

Between

12:03pm and 3:03pm* "

Something is up.

So now I understand why the post office have told me I have a parcel coming from Preston. Unfortunately as they said it was a parcel I’ve had it routed to my local post office, and they will let me know when it’s arrived.
That should be Wednesday according to them but no doubt they won’t be able to find it when I go round. They will probably ask me for the red non delivery card they leave when your out.
Anxious 3 days ahead !
Why did they say it was a parcel when in the past they just deliver envelope through letterbox

2seasons ago the first train after the match was cancelled so the next one was about 2 hours after match had finished.
Went for X43 but 2left before I got on one.
Car this time for me

My ticket has still not arrived so I have asked the club for a duplicate. I have just been told by Royal Mail that they didn't get payment for the postage from City till yesterday so some tickets were delayed and not processed by them. They couldn't guarantee that I would get the ticket by Friday. The Royal Mail claim sounds very far-fetched but that's what the customer services adviser said. If that is true then it would be the club's fault. What a shambles yet again on ticketing. My ticket is also stuck at the Preston Mailing Centre.
