Burnley Vs City Post Match Thread

Getting beat you can take hey its football you win games you lose games it hurts but the way you get beat does it for me that was a bag of massive dog shit . All the players not interested passes goin astray our throw ins goin to them slow play and pellers hasnt got a clue. Standin there lookin like a lost dog his subs have no substance or influence on the games like for like time he was relieved of his dutys after wednesday . Barca will score in the first ten mins and its all over

Question is, who do we bring to replace Pellers?
Do we take an almighty gamble and appoint Viera now? Or should we wait until the end of this season to appoint Viera thereby giving him a chance to bring in his own players and start with a clean slate? I think he'll also be willing to use some of the Acadamy players too!

Are we giving Viera the job based on the outstanding job Pearce did the last time we gave someone with no managerial experience a go here? We're not shit anymore (although you could question that tonight) so we'll have plenty to choose from this time

I'd give Vieira a go already. His knowledge of the fantastic young talents we have would be a great asset, and from what I hear he's a decent motivator. It'd be fair to give him a shot.

I'd argue that the biggest let downs today were Silva, Aguero and Yaya. Piss poor all 3 of them.
I'd add Navas and Dzeko, and latterly Bony too, and what was the Lampard sub all about ?

I disagree with people slagging Bony off, I thought he did ok today, certainly looked far better than Dzeko did. I acknowledge his part in our success over the last few years but I think it's time for Dzeko to go. He doesn't perform consistently enough to play for a top team.

I've seen enough from Bony to suggest he will be a big hit for us, but he needs games! By that I don't mean half an hour here and there.

I thought Navas was one of the few players who actually looked arsed today. I certainly would not single him out as one of the worst culprits. It's a shame our players don't make runs for crosses and expect everything to come through the middle.

Lampard is Pellegrini's tactical masterplan when we're one down with 10 minutes to go.

Dzeko played better than Bony and Aguero today. Bony looks awful but I resist slating him because he has come into a new team which is lacking confidence. Aguero's finishing at the moment is dreadful. He's had plenty of chances recently and is just not hitting the target. Silva just had an awful game and didn't look remotely disappointed when he was subbed. Toure couldn't run or wasn't prepared too. Take your pick. I give Navas credit only for running around a lot...by todays standard that was quite a scare quality. Lampard was a novelty that lost its impact somewhere around last November. Hasn't remotely looked like working since. The rest of the team were average at best.

Hopefully Vieira will turn out to be be a far better manager than Pearce.
You would hope so- but if Vieira replaces Pellegrini presently we will plummet faster than the rag vermin.

Credit to burnley they deserved the win. They fought for the badge and shirt, something our players are clearly unwilling to do. Need big changes at the club before this turns into our worst nightmare. Shocking

Not read all the comments here, but I assume we lost.

I switched it off at 85 minutes as I was totally disgusted with the abject, apathetic and spineless performance by our "heroes", all of whom receive far more per week than I do per annum. It seems that we have been totally sussed by most of our opponents, and there is no apparent Plan B if/when things go wrong - in fact, I am struggling to find out what Plan A is.

Don't forget, the style of play Burnley adopted, and fair play, they won using these tactics, was very similar to the "Hoof it to Bogbrush" approach used by our near neighbours. A frightening thought, wouldn't you say.

Bring back Alan Ball!!!

I completely agree. But as a previous poster stated, he must be allowed to manage without pressure. His only target being to maintain our current league position. He's a far better motivator than Pearce or Pellers was/is. Plus, if you've ever watched the EDS teams they don't always play 442. I'd back Viera.
