I would have thought that it is in the interests of all involved to vote "Yes", as it would mean a return of Football to Gigg Lane, albeit at a lower level than when the Shakers last played there.
In the interests of the town yes.
Some individuals with an ego or a vested interest in another agenda not so much.

They are decent lads tbf who just tried to keep their town’s club alive and give their kids someone to watch rather than us or united

But the thing is Kids will always want to watch the best teams and the best players being show on TV and all over the social media, the small local clubs like Bury and Oldham should let kids in for free and get schools involved,

also, local people from them towns need to get involved, mixed race, Asian community should not fear going to games because of a few local racists who think they own the clubs, this is also why united and city cash in from little local towns, you think city or united would let a few nutters stop 1000s of people from turning up ? the nutters would be kicked out and banning orders given out,

I went to half a dozen macc games last season with my lad. Kids free. Lots of kids clubs got a block of tickets free.

This season following promotion i think its £2 now …

4500 there on saturday (albiet for a derbt v leek) but generally a good 4k there for 8th tier football. Got the kids hooked in.

Think our junior blues in the 70s, probably saved us support wise as a club in the 80s

Anybody remember when Bury chose to sell United shirts in their own club shop?!
Not shirts, it was stuff linked to Birthdays (pencil cases and tat with Fred The Red on). Birthdays were Bury sponsors and sold that stuff in all their stores, and they were running the Bury souvenir shop at the time.

Fair enough, I stand corrected. I just remember that being a reason given by Blues for not supporting them when City weren't playing - and also the Neville connection of course.

Fans are allowed to have a say in their club though and judging by Twitter there’s a long way before some fans on each side, and those running the clubs if what they release as statements is anything to go by, see eye to eye. At the moment there are many who think they’re being steamrolled into a merger it seems.

I think this will end up in acrimonious divorce if the merger goes ahead with feelings as they currently are.

Just read this little lot on FB about it (from the non-AFC side), I don't know who this Phil Young fellor is but he appears to be mixing it with the other lot...

BFCSS launched their new membership towards the end of 2022, now is the time to sign up. The best advice we could give anybody is to sign up NOW.

£5 a month direct debit that will be set up and then taken around the 1st working day of each month.

Allow your voice to be heard and get behind our Vote No Merger 2 - Bury F.C

When signed up please drop us a DM or comment to let us know how you will be voting this time around. We are highly confident the 2nd vote can surpass the 286 No votes that were achieved in the last vote and this isn't because anybody wants to scupper a merger it's because in the last few months since the last vote we have seen -

• Phil Young has no desire to merge, it is a hostile takeover of Gigg Lane.

• Council Officials have tried to find a back passage that allows Bury AFC to play at Gigg Lane before any vote.

• Phil Young has arranged secret meetings with low ranking Government officials in order to concoct a plan as above.

• Phil Young had invited Andy Walsh To Radcliffe FC for their postponed match against Wythenshawe Town FC on 26/12/2022 Which Andy was going to attend however this match was postponed.

• BFCSS wanted to hold a Quick vote as they know if the vote comes back as a no they need to make their own preparations for the 2023/24 Season, AFC's Phil Young has instructed BFCSS you WILL get a 2nd vote as long as you sign a lease and allow us to play at Gigg Lane immediately without informing your members.

• There is talks taking place now we are told that AFC would like their ladies team to play from Gigg Lane with immediate effect also as they are on a very good league run and would like to give the AFC ladies the effect of playing out of Gigg Lane immediately too, they have not even approached BFCSS to enquire as to if this is possible this season, or even taken into account the Bury FC Women that play at Gigg Lane and have their next match planned on the 5th February at Gigg Lane.

• Phil Young has reported Gigg Lane and BFCSS for illegally streaming English football matches without knowing BFCSS and their Stadium Operations Team had already obtained the licence for this, a simple email to operations@bfcss could have been made to enquire if the correct licence was in place. However Phil took it upon himself to make that report, which has caused a massive division over the last few weeks when unity was on the horizon. We also have evidence it was Phil who filed the report, since the malicious report the relevant authorities have been made aware. We strongly feel this has been made to prevent supporters being able to attend Gigg Lane of an evening to watch some live football and have a drink.

• AFC have released a statement last night. This surely breached the NDA agreement signed between BFCSS and Bury AFC. In doing this, this is their last throw of a dice in which a separate company is trying a hostile takeover, and refusing to meet with BFCSS despite the appetite from all other parties.

• AFC have shown throughout a complete lack of co-operation since the initial vote, they have constantly put blocks in the way that means this vote only works if they are handed more of what they want before co-operating with BFCSS to deliver a 2nd vote, they think they kick the can down the road and no football comes to Gigg aside from them, this Is their plan, this is their hope, but this is not their reality. We know BFCSS will deliver on a no vote outcome and football will be back at Gigg Lane and that's why we need to oversee what is going to be requested of us and vote no.

• The easiest point to make here is simply that we are also aware that Phil Young has been given the green light to be the chairman of AFC continued at Gigg Lane in whatever format the amalgamation works. In turn this will mean Phil Young who has caused most of the division here and constantly worked against BFCSS would be your new chairman, there is no doubts about that, the only person who stops that is Phil himself by saying he will walk away after an amalgamation, again a point put to him by BFCSS which he has responded with his intention to carry on at Gigg Lane, and even made claims he will make himself the Stadium manager and has someone else lined up too. This is something we can not allow to happen for our magnificent Gigg Lane that has been incredibly worked on by BFCSS and volunteers and been in the black since the acquisition.

All of the above leads us to believe there is no way AFC will end up obtaining Gigg Lane, not whilst all of us vocal members/supporters have a say in it.

Stay Vocal and make your points felt. The statement from AFC last night didn't go down well across the whole shakers family.

Thank you for your continued support.
