Tried it last in the mid 90s in the Ardenne in Belgium. It pissed it down solidly all the time we were there so cut the stay short and returned to my mate's house in Mechelen to dry out.

The lakes or maybe near Lytham ??Anywhere in particular you want to go? Always worth a look on pitchup and reading the reviews.
I’m camping this weekend near Scarborough as going to see Pulp in the open air theatre on Sunday. 4 of us, 40 quid for two nights rather than the 500 quid we could find a hotel in Scarborough for!

All depends which way you camp or where you camp, pitching up on average in the UK is about £25 a night or so the mighty google tells us.
Better off comparing caravans to hotels. Been in enough of all 3 to know camping a lot cheaper.

They are massive in the bag and fill your boot, depends if you have the boot space to fit it plus all your other gear.
