can this be challenged?

where an earth does it say the champions must start at home??????????? chelsea started the the 05/06 away to wigan and arsenal started the 04/05 away to everton. the rags started 01/02 away from home

I don't understand why everyone is so worried about Spurs away first up! Surely they'll be worried too and after the match at CoMS at the end of last season our players should be really fired up for it.

The fixtures do stink, really not fair being away both first and last games of the season. To add to this insult, we are AWAY at NEWCASTLE on boxing day ffs! Your suppost to play a fairly local team, since when was Newcastle classed as local!

to be fair Hull had to trek to ours on boxing day 2 seasons ago, I'd hardly call them local.

Only one thing for it, we'll have to win the league and get the home games next season :)

1 hour 15 mins away straight down the motorway. or a 3 hour trip to newcastle, slight difference.

Two immediate fixture changes:

Liverpool H will move as will Sunderland A the following week because of our Europa qualifiers on the previous Thursday.

Yet again, the Swamp derby is on the date nearest the Munich anniversary, paranoia or not this happens too often for it to be coincidence.

yeah your right want it last season they had liverpool? That's the only history them lot have got, which put them on the map and been creaming off it ever since it sickings me!

You can tell them what you think here

Not that it will make any difference.

Also, the have a document on their site titled HOW THE PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURE LIST IS COMPILED Season 2008/09.

Don't know why it hasn't been updated recently, but it states

There are also a number of Premier League rules involving matters such as the sequencing of matches. For example:
Wherever possible no Club should have more than two successive home fixtures or two successive away fixtures (excluding Cup draws). All Clubs should have an alternating sequence of home and away Saturday fixtures at both the beginning and end of the season.
A Club that has an away fixture on Boxing Day will have a home fixture on New Year’s Day and vice versa. Each Club should have an equal number of home and away Bank Holiday fixtures, assuming an even number are scheduled.
The distance of journeys to away fixtures on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day should be minimised wherever possible in order to lessen inconvenience to travelling supporters. Clubs participating in the UEFA Cup will be playing on Thursday nights, and will have the option of moving Saturday games to Sundays. Where possible these matches should therefore be home fixtures.

Seems they forgot about about the distance on Boxing Day rule this year, apart from London, Newcastle is our furthest away fixture.
