Can we afford to let Barry go?

This is what worries me, i'd play Yaya pushed on and bring Milner into midfield with Fernandinho.

I am not disagreeing with you but it is a poor reflection when we require an additional player within our midfield to assist our 30 million pound signing in an area of the pitch we have consistently dominated United over the last couple of years.

So much money wasted, which would have been better served improving other areas of the team. That is not a criticism of Fernandinho just our transfer policy.

Yeah i understand what you mean, different story now imo cause Fellaini will start tomorrow and i'm also basing it on the fact Fernandinho hasn't got up to speed with the league and yaya is often lazy and Fernandinho has double the work to do, and he'll get over run.

Free Yaya up, give Milner and Fernandinho room to work and we'll stop supply to RVP at the same time. Stop that, and you stop United and 70%
of their attacking threat.

For a one off game playing a three is acceptable but it cannot be a long term strategy as there is not enough goals in the team from other areas for this system to work.

Think it will be interesting to see if Fernandinho gets up to speed. Different putting a few eye catching performance in the Champs leage each season and then playing to a lesser standard for nine years in the Ukrainian league. Competing within the Prem and Champions league he will need to perform every week to a high standard. Not saying he cannot do it but there is no evidence to suggest he can either.

Yeah, it's a difficult situation now because when Yaya is given the opportunity to go forward he's a different player and when he doesn't have to worry about tracking back.

I'd much prefer to push him on and have cover, than play another striker. I just think he offers something different and he often get's doubled up on, which gives the likes of Silva and others more room. Sick of seeing him pick it up on the halfway line and then feed it to someone else. That's what Barry did, he's wasted in holding midfield Yaya.

So many options, so many different types of players.

I'd play Milner on the right tomorrow, always good against the shite, especially negating Evra's runs.

He's simply not good enough to play centrally against a top 6 team though.
I reckon Navas will b even better than anything Milner can provide on the right. Both offensively and defensively.

Gareth Wudda certainly bin more effective in the sweeper role at Villa on saturday.
Fenandinho's not suited to playing in away games, for me. Great passer but doesn't seem too keen on the physical side of the English game, Likes too much tme on the ball & isn't a great tackler.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the lad isn't quality, Just more suited to playing at home, where teams are less likely to press us,
