Good decision by the club IMO. Barry will play week in week out at Everton, whereas at City he'd have played very few games. With a year left on his contract and no prospect of him getting a new one, better he should go out and play football than sit on his arse at City for a year collecting a wage and playing maybe 10 games depending on injuries. He can't play against us so we don't have that to contend with. I suspect City held out for whatever deal they wanted on the loan and Everton waited until they had the United money. Barry gets regular football at a top 6 club in a world cup year.
From a squad point of view, I really don't see why we need a purely defensive midfield player with as little pace, energy and stamina as him when we've got Rodwell, Fernandinho, Yaya, and hopefully we'll see Milner given a chance there.
I actually agree with a lot of the people who say he's been brilliant for us. He was instrumental in both the FA Cup winning and League winning team. Proper champion and deserves his medals. Certainly goes with my best wishes.
