I like the guy and Im glad for him every time he scores. He just has this strangely likeable energy about him.

He obviously spilts opinion but we are asking him to do things which he is not capable of. He cannot play with his back to the goal against a commanding centre half, he cannot run the channels effectively BUT he is a goalscorer and he is scoring goals when we are asking him to do the things that are not his strengths. Make him the focus of the attack when he plays and he will score a lot of goals. Mancini seems reluctant to do this and expects him to fit into a system that does not agree with him. A little more flexibility from the management would help Dzeko enormously. I dont think that will happen and he will be shipped out at the earliest opportunity.

i like dzeko, scored some big goals for us, never hides, genuine as fuck and offers us something different up front - doesn't mean he doesnt have faults

Can we stop with these threads that won't really make any difference? People are into different players and are into specific skillset..Then you have others who have no lives so have to pick on certain players and they won't change their mind no matter what..Your stats can prove otherwise but their feelings outweigh all that. I have no problem with that..It is what it is.
I have no problem seeing the fact Aguero has no aerial ability and has missed quite a few easy headers...He's great on the ground and i expect that part to shine. With Balo and Dzeko i expect more physicality and aerial threat.
These threads make things worse imo as it's trying to change something that isn't really possible to change...so again please stop.

He's not playing well but he has a great chance over the next few weeks. I like the lad. I think he's extremely dangerous when on his game. Like the vast majority of strikers, his game stands or falls on instinctive decisions, and currently it's just not coming off most of the time. A decent performance and run of games and suddenly things will click again. He's too good a player for them not to. You can see the pain and desperation in his face when he scores at the moment. This time last year he had a smile which lit up the stadium when he scored.
And he's still getting goals whilst not playing well. If he gets a run of games he will come good.

The earliest opportunity was June 2011 and he's still here.
And I'd be absolutely furious if we built a team around Dzeko when we have Silva, Nasri, Tevez and Aguero.
You know that Dzeko is a professional football reputed to be a world class one at that? Why can't HE adapt to us?

Dzeko is a good player. Unfortunately, whether it's because of his being in and out of the team, his confidence seems to be low. Last year, after the Spurs match where he scored 4, I would have put him up against anyone. He was playing at an extremely high level. Get his confidence back and he'll be scoring goals again.

Agreed, plenty of faults, especially a terrible first touch but he gets goals and he's honest. I think he offers us a different approach if we use him correctly. He will be a good man for the CL matches. Teves and Kun are 1st pairing and Dzeko and Mario are the backup for injuries, cup games and when we need to mix it.
