Can we have a poll on Dzeko....?

He's not the best footballer we have but he scores goals, and as a striker his job is to do just that, so I don't have too many complaints.
Fair assessment plus he should never ever play as a lone striker as he started last night, Mancini should know this

Exactly, why not start both Aguero and Dzeko? I think we would have scored more goals.

Is Didier Drogba a shite forward?

Because in his first two seasons at Chelsea, he only scored 16 goals in each of those seasons, in all competitions.

So by your reckoning, Chelsea should have got rid.

But they didn't, and look what happened, 150 goals in 323 games.

Not just goals though mate is it.

Strikers have to do other things, Dzeko is getting the goals still but we need more fight from him. More desire.

didnt play great but scored. as a striker that's all i expect him to do. We got used to him banging them in for fun at the start of the season is all

He's only been with us 12 months though, that's my point. Drogba looked a bit feckless to begin with.

And yes, I'm a bit chuffed I've used the word 'feckless' today!

Dzeko's problem is that he's not intricate enough to join in with the cool passing and cheeky through balls, but he tries to be.

What Dzeko is, is tall, with the ability to head a ball and poach a few goals. But he's such a pussycat too, why does he jump with defenders and allow himself to be bullied everytime he goes up? Why is he always out on the wing when he should be in the box finishing scraps. He's too nice for his own good, he needs to seriously put himself about more or risk going, because for me, if Balotelli and Aguero were fit for every game, he'd struggle to see 20 minutes a game.

He is good enough, we don't get enough crosses in the box for him to get onto, prime example the Tottenham game away, banged in crosses and he scored 4, he's not like Balo and Aguero who like it to feet, he'd prefer to run onto it, and his passing is great (one to AJ last night, one to AJ at Arsenal etc)

Won't find many better 'Target Men' with the passing and (on his day) touch he has, and still fairly young, Keep every day of the week, and sign a winger who will bang crosses onto his head (Bale, or even Valencia or a player like them)

Perhaps, I think a player has got to give more though. Aguero is over a foot smaller than him but holds the ball up better. Its Dzeko's touch which annoys me, one of the worst.

If you are basing it on 12 months then he has done ok, well, slow improvement anyway. We have seen glimpses of great forward play. He can hold it up, he does have a great first touch, quick feet, skill and can pass a ball short and long.

Do we see that often enough? Certainly not and there have been games he has looked so average but when you have seen games like Spurs away you hope he can be more consistent. I think he has struggled in home games, only 2 (both easy tap ins from GK mistakes) out of his 14 goals have come at home.

One thing is for sure he needs to put more effort in and use his physique more. We used to level this at Adebayor, another one who doesnt jump for headers outside the box. The effort applies to Nasri and a couple of others too. We are going to have to show grit and mental strength as well as class if we are to pip the rags to the league. I just hope the likes of Dzeko, Nasri, Barry, Lescott, Balotelli have this in their locker when called upon.

Well, against Liverpool he played bad, yet he managed to score, should be given a penalty and had a wonderful pass to our one trick pony.

Whit a little luck his actions would have given us 3 goals, what more do you expekt from a striker? And this is in a game where he has been criticized the most together with Savic.

You think that Cavani, Benzema or even RvP would have done more yesterday?
