Captain Sir Tom Moore - memorial attacked (P11)

Just seen the local and national news and all the people young and old that he inspired. We should be really proud as a nation to have had people like him to kick us into action. And now I see his family are being trolled. Why don't these cowards get off their lardy asses and do something productive, It makes me sick

Rip captain Tom, you certainly lived a full and active final year of your life!

To be fair, that army was the biggest in the whole war, with over a million men, so it's not a surprise that a lot of people had family who fought in it. It's amazing that it's not a better known part of the war, to be honest.
From first seeing on "The World at War" to reading about the Burma conflict this lengthy campaign was possibly the most brutal. With the maniac Japanese military who didn't fear death to deal with plus horrendous monsoon conditions they ate, slept and fought the war in mud, truly a campaign that doesn't get the acknowledgement it deserves, tips hat to all those who fought there.

RIP Sir Tom.

Led an incredible life and the last 12 months of it where something else.
