Car Insurance

I await my RAC renewal quote with trepidation now...
The insurance companies are suggesting the cost of parts has gone up, hence the price hikes.

It’s a closed shop though. They can set their own prices.

I had to use my breakdown cover for the first time ever this year, having spent hundreds over the year. Was pretty happy I had it when I needed it though.

My insurer sent me a quote that was £90 more than last year.

I did a search and found quotes £120 cheaper than that.

Rang them and they priced matched me without asking for proof of my other quotes.

They’re just cunts basically.

Why did you go with them then?

They didn't deserve your renewal imo.

€390 back in February. Fully comp, NCB protection, windscreen cover, roadside assistance, home start etc etc. One of the perks of being a FOC, I guess; not having to pay a king's ransom for insurance. I feel sorry (ish!) for young drivers these days. Paying thousands for cover, if they can get it.

£1400 is the lowest I've been quoted for a 2016 Evoque - I'm 76

WHAT????? I get that it's a very nice car, and that replacement parts for it (in the event of a prang) will probably be pricey, as would labour in an official RR dealer. But that's horrendous jc. Not being (overly) nosey, but what's your driving history? Have you had a few claims down the years? I had a write off in 2010,but I had NCB protection, and the premium barely moved at renewal time. I'm driving a 2021 Tucson now; ordinary diesel, no electric.

*edit* I see you've already answered the question re your driving history.
