Carabao Cup Final Post-Match Thread

Delighted City won another Cup at Wembley, disappointed only that at 2-0 up and swarming all over Villa & looking for a third they didn't go on to win in the manner that would have had neutrals and reporters praising City's football rather than talking about them being saved by Bravo & the post.
 
I can see what Jonathan Wilson means about winning trophies being so depressing. I was depressed at being in the same postcode as Villa fans and depressed when the M6 was snarled up round Stafford so we had to go on A roads which added about 20 minutes.
I wonder if he mentioned winning trophies being so depressing when the rags, dippers and Chavs were winning loads.
 
Just got in.

Great atmosphere, great win, great day.

Got the early goals and more or les controlled the match thereafter.

Poor defending for their goal, and Claudio made a brilliant save to spare us the ordeal of extra time.

Some great individual performances today, especially from Rodri and Phil, but I voted for Merlin as MotM. It was great to see him lift a trophy in his own right.

It was comical to see a procession of supporters heading past us, presumably for the toilets, after each of our two goals.

That's another trophy in the cabinet. Ain’t it brilliant being a Blue?

The stupid woman on talkshite breakfast referred to us as the rags, and later said Manchester City are off to Goodison this afternoon.

She blamed tiredness, but she’s just bloody useless!
 
Absolute nightmare getting home and there. Stuck in traffic for hours. Every time we play there I say I’ll try and get the train .... never happens.

Got to the ground at 4.10!
 
Villa fans are a weird bunch. Very gobby, but it was, as if they were all reading the same lines off the same sheet.

We definitely have more in common with with fans such as Sunderland and Everton.
