Carabao Cup R3 Draw | Newcastle (A)

Not an ideal draw, but at least this year Newcastle have CL to contend with so the Carabao will be less of a priority for them. Feels like sacrilege to say it, but it might not be a bad thing in the long run if we went out early anyway, with the World Club Championship looming.
Fuck that.

If you toss a coin 12 times it’s 12 separate events, each one is 50:50 however far apart the 12 separate events are, and the chances of them all being the same desired outcome (12 heads on the run or 12 tails) is still 4095 to 1. But like I said the draws can’t be fixed so united are just very lucky
On the positive side, it makes their season ticket holders watch how shit they are the maximum number of times possible and drain their bank accounts more to watch them beat Stevenage on penalties.

If you want to flip a coin 12 times and hope for heads every time it is 4095/1. If you flipped a coin 12 times and realised after the 12th time you had all heads it is still 4095/1. What you are describing are the odds on getting heads AFTER already achieving 2047/1.
That is exactly the point - no matter how many home draws United have had in the past, statistically it makes no difference to the odds of the next one being home as well.

You’re arguing something else. They’d achieved 2047/1 and now have acheived 4095/1, although I think it’s debatable because in the FA Cup they did get drawn as the away team in the SF. Both views are valid, one is probability of a single event the other is the probability of a series of events.

Our rotten run of drawing PL teams in the top half continues, meanwhile the rags get another home draw.
This surely cannot be a coincidence?

Think city and the efl should clarify what will happen if we reach qfs the same time as the cwc will be be forced to play a kids team? Would we withdraw? Would it be moved? Think it's only fair the fans know before forking out for the early rounds.
Nothing was put in place for Liverpool in 2019-20:
14th Dec, PL, Watford h
17th Dec, EFL, Villa a
18th Dec, CWC, Monterey n
21st Dec, CWC, Flamengo n
26th Dec, PL, Leicester a

Although, in 2021-22, Chelsea didn’t have to play until February and the Cup draws around them didn’t need moving:
5th Feb, FA, Plymouth h
9th Feb, CWC, Al-Hillal n
12th Feb, CWC, Palmeiras n
19th Feb, PL, Palace a

We are scheduled to play at the time Liverpool were in December:
16th Dec, PL, Palace h
18th/19th Dec, CWC, TBA n
19th/20th Dec, EFL quarters
22nd Dec, CWC final n

[23rd Dec, PL, Brentford h has been moved]
26th Dec, PL, Everton a
… so we’ll have to put out our EDS team against whoever we’d get if we got through to the EFL Cup quarter final like Liverpool did.
