Cardiff City Vs City Pre match Discussion Thread

Of all the promoted sides I think Cardiff have the most sting, I think they'll get a goal. Malky will get them pressing high up the pitch tirelessly in attempt to throw City off their pace, Pelle will be patient and will just bide his time. Wouldn't be surprised if Cardiff lead 1-0 for something like 40 minutes and City still win 3-1

I hope both Richards and Jovetic get some minutes in this game, other than that just a swap for Vinny and maybe some other changes where Pellers see's fit and we're ready to go! I'd go with the same team bar Kompany, but I get the feeling we'll see some changes.

Why do people keep talking about Richards? Isn't he out for 2 or 3 weeks tweaking a hamstring in training, according to his own tweet?

It's Boyata or Javi Garcia mate, so lets hope Cardiff haven't too much to offer up front.

I can see this one being close for 20 minutes or so but if City can settle down and start pressing them I think we will be comfortable 2-0 winners in the end. These are the games that we need to win if we want our title back...

Richards is constantly injured , so it's absolutely no surprise to hear that he is yet again .....

as for the choice of Boyata or Garcia in defence , then it has to be Boyata.

Although i'm sure i read that it's possible Nastasic might make it ...

FFS I can't believe what I'm reading on here, I don't care if they are up for it or not, saw this exact stuff right before Newcastle, we stick to our game plan and we will win, if not through sheer quality.

If only it always worked that way .. we'd have few problems , wherever we went !

Wasn't aware he'd even got a new Twitter mate, since he deleted his old one ages ago due to morons on there I think. Boyata has looked alright in pre-season, but I don't fancy him next to Lescott and neither Garcia either haha, I'd been hoping Nastasic would be fit but that's wishful thinking.

It is Cardiff, and I'm not underestimating them, I expect a tough game. I would throw Boyata out there if Nastasic can't go.

Is Nastasic going to be fit for Sunday?

Pellegrini last week reckoned that Nastasic would be back in full training this week , and as such you'd think that he would probably have a chance of turning out at Cardiff ........ but my guess is that , even if he has returned to training , the club won't risk him on Sunday.

But that's just a guess , and with Kompany now missing Pellegrini may well leave it up to the player to say whether he's fit to return at Cardiff or not.

You're probably right, but I was surprised Aguero started last week, expected him to come off the bench.

So was i to be honest ....

it could well be that Pellegrini will leave the Sunday decision to Nastasic himself , in light of Kompanys injury.

Much excitement down here for Sundays game but I cant see a repeat of this result this weekend!
And i havent spoken to a single Cardiff fan who thinks they will win this game...

Really looking forward to Sunday after Monday's performance. I think it was what us fans needed, just a little confidence boost for the season ahead.
I think it is an excellent chance for us to put early pressure on our challengers too, especially with two of them playing each other on BHM. If we can get a win (I don't care how we do it) they then go into that game knowing they're both already 3 points behind.

Cardiff didn't really impress at WHU and their fans don't seem that confident from what I have seen on Twitter. I see a win for us and I'll be happy with that.

Nastasic to come in for the injured Kompany too, IMO.

Well it's usually an entertaining game when we come to town , although not always for the right reasons , and even though we clearly have the talent , i doubt that the majority of City fans would say for sure that we'll DEFINITELY do a 'United' , be absolutely clinical , and convincingly wipe the floor with welsh opposition on their own turf !

Most of us remain 'guarded' , and probably always will , because this clubs history is littered with results that simply 'shouldn't have happened' ..... and , once again , we saw a few last season!

But here's to a good game , i'm sure both clubs will give it their best shot.

Nothing is definite. That said, we're in with a good chance. Cannee wait for a great atmosphere. Last time I watched City in Cardiff, it was aginst TNS!

Looking forward to this game.

Cardiff will be parking the bus, we will have about 70 - 80% possesion. we should start with the same 11 against Newcastle, minus Kompany if not fit.

We will come away with a 2 or 3 nil win.

Aguero and Dzeko the scores ;-)

I recon its going to be a really close game, they will be well up for it in front if their home fans. Im gonna go for 2-1

Could name a completely different front 4 if we wanted to but I think we may see something like:

_________________Hart

__Zabaleta__Garcia__Lescott__Clichy

Milner__Y.Toure__Fernandinho__Silva

__________Aguero__Negredo

Subs: Pantillimon, Nastasic, Kolarov, Rodwell, Navas, Nasri, Dzeko.

Will Jovetic be fit enough for the bench?
