Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

IMO the problem away from home is primarily the midfield. It was a problem yesterday and a problem last year too. It lacks balance.

We need an extra body in the middle, preferably Milner. We do not need more attacking players to be more effective upfront. It's as if our attackers get in each others way. We just need to be a bit smarter and more flexible.

The way some players just walked past Yaya yesterday with no effort did worry me a bit and it's something that needs to change.
Its not the first time either (yaya), I don't understand what his problem is, I'm sure its not just who the opposition are, is it where he's being asked to play, is it the way the team is playing or the players that are playing ? He certainly needs to impose himself more in some games. I'd play him further foward away from home, if nothing else it means we defend far higher up the pitch than we did yesterday, though its fair to say we just didn't defend well enough yesterday, anywhere on the pitch. I don't think that Silva is the right player for games like yesterday, at least not from the start.

We could have had Messi on the pitch yesterday and we still would have gotten beat.

Our problem was that we were playing our third choice defender and fifth choice centre midfielder as our centre back pairing. Due to this, the understanding and organisation at set pieces wasn't there and they punished us for it

I agree with this. Poor defending at set pieces ultimately cost us. I'm not into blaming Zabba for this & Hart for that as we are a team so we should win and lose as a team!!! Though I will say that Yaya should of been subbed due to his performance & also Hart needs a rest to get his head back into gear.

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

We are to dependent on Silva if he can't make an impact we run short of ideas,we needed another attacking midfielder after losing out on isco

I can't remember the last time he made a crunching or sliding tackle?....if he can't intercept the ball he doesn't bother, very worrying?

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Its taken me until today to come on here!!! Very disappointed is all i can say at yesterdays performance. Didn't look the same team that played against Newcastle in the same week . Dezko comments pre match sounded like it was just a formality to just turn up ..... How wrong you were.... Onwards and upwards RANT over

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Defence let us down. It was hard to break them down in the 1st half yet we still found the back of the net twice yet our defence and Joe let us down. We miss Kompany and nasty so much.

Negredo looks quality and should start next week.

Silly goals which we can easly prevent.

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

we set up correctly, played well at times but were undone with poor goalkeeping (which keeps happening) and poor defending.

not the managers fault at all, we are missing three of our first choice back 4.

richards is imo a better choice to zabs and with kompany out and nasty not 100% we were always going to be fucked.

You know when dzeko made those comments I just got this weird feeling that something bad might happen today and so it did,i think we paid for being arrogant n complaicent

Simply not his game. I'm thinking of all the great sides I've seen and every single one has had a nasty piece of work in midfield who likes to put his foot in. Keane, Vieira, Souness. Toure simply isn't that type of player, and I'd argue that we don't have one post De Jong.
