Manchester City has reportedly told Milan that they will get Tevez for £22M, which is around €28m. [DailyStar]

if this happens, it means RVP would possibly be replacing Tevez. But is RVP an upgrade over Tevez, off-field behavior aside? I find it difficult to think so..
No, he's certainly not.

-- Sat Jul 14, 2012 3:50 pm --

Tevez or Dzeko for AC Milan

Milan are reportedly taking the first steps in the market to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva this summer.

Ibrahimovic and Silva look certain to sign for Paris Saint-Germain in a reputed €62m deal and subsequently, attention has turned back to the Rossoneri and how they intend to replace them.

Rumours continue to link Adriano Galliani with a move for Carlos Tevez, who nearly joined the San Siro outfit in January and with his Manchester City teammate Edin Dzeko.

The Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Milan have maintained contact with members of Tevez’s entourage, but that where Galliani is keen to test the waters, Coach Massimiliano Allegri is pushing for an initial move on Dzeko instead.

It is understood that a club representative will be sent to Manchester on Monday to explore the options.

Meanwhile, in replacing Silva in defence, the name of Rolando has emerged as a potential target. The 26-year-old Porto man holds an EU target unlike other rumoured target Dede, and Galliani reportedly had dinner with his agent Davide Lippi, last night.

However, the club are said to be interested in knocking down the €15m valuation on the Portugal international.
Lots of "reportedly" and "suggests"... And no quotes

A lot of European Leagues have limited number of spaces to sign non eu players. Like PSG for example have released a non eu player to make space for Thiago Silva which is also why Milan are looking at Rolando because he holds a Portuguese passport. Don't know about Dzeko though because Bosnia is in Europe but not in the EU.

Cheers, that's the part I was missing. I assumed "eu" meant European.

We must keep Carlos!

Tevez
Van Persie
Aguero
Balotelli

What an incredible prospect. There are nearly 60 games next season in all competitions. Plenty of football for all 4 strikers, and enough rest to avoid injury.

Fully agreed, any combination of those 4 lads will strike fear into any defense in football.

So which one are we losing, Tevez or Dzeko? No one seems to know.

After the last world cup when Italy had a disaster they brought in a rule that Italian clubs could only buy 1 non eu player per transfer window as well so if that rule is still in place they can't sign the both as well

For what it is worth (not a great deal really) this is what I think will happen.....

Tevez will stay, Dzeko will go to AC Milan, Van Persie will go to Juve and we will get Cavani

That is no more than a guess

Why Milan are not interested in RVP ?

He has one year left on his contract, cheaper than Tevez and as so many posters are saying here that he is much better than Tevez !

I would really be surprised if someone actually said that, other than the fact that most still want to get rid because of all the problems he's caused..

btw, did anyone notice that he's the first to arrive at training these past few days? Looks like he really means it when he now says he wants to stay. Unfortunately, the ball is now in City's court..round and round the never-ending saga goes..

Well if Carlos really wants to stay then offer him a 2 year extension with no get out clauses or transfer request clauses! Then we'll see how committed he is!

It is better for City to have him for 2 more years and let him go for free instead of taking 22 Mil for him now.

City gave Arsenal +20 Mil for Nasri with one year left in his contract, and every body knows that Tevez is much better player than him.

Depends on how much your boyfriend pissed the owner off I guess!! Maybe some might get their wish and we might be stunned by 4 from rvp, kun, balo and falcao?! Would that do blues??

The past is the past. Would be stupid to let one of our best strikers go when the principal characters Tevez and Mancini seem to have resolved their differences. When Tevez is fit he is as good as there is. Only Aguero can rival him, so why weaken our side for some issue that is behind us. If he plans on leaving for Argentina when his contract expires I don't mind if in the meantime we're still winning trophies.

I hope we don't buy any strikers and leave it as it is as last season the forward play was spectacular and this was without Tevez and with a still maturing Balotelli.

Remember that Tevez can play just as well in midfield and in behind the striker as he can up top. The aggression and skill combine into one hell of a player.

I think that Carlos is a must keep at this stage of our development.

He seems to be good for Kun and gives us another dimension when on thus allowing Mancini a different option. He never gives up and stays on everyones case as they see him chasing down everything and they are encouraged to do so.

RVP would be an asset however with Balo's emergence and the way Dzeko is prepared to play his part in the squad I think that we have what we need to move forward.

A better Balo a more settled Kun, a happy tevez and Dzeko to call on, it makes sense.
