Carlos Tevez

I just wish I knew the person who had all the inside info about our transfer delaings. How the **** does anyone know what we have paid or sold our players for....NO-ONE.

Yet people come on here saying we have overpaid for this player yet undersold on this player. This is all to do with the media led "City moneybags" campaign

Why dont people let the powers that be deal with all purchases and sales because I can tell you one thing they know a damn sight more about our club finances than anyone on this forum

If they are happy so should we be

I think he coasted last season , said it many times to my mates ,but he is that good that 70 percent performances were better than most in the league ,just wasn't his normal fighting self I'd seen the previous seasons .good luck Carlos thanks.

I see no, little at most, difference between this situation and RVP.

28/29 years of age, like you said.

Last year of their contracts, like you said.

Arguably, regarding RVP, at the time given injuries both have seen better days, like you said.

Both sought after by big clubs.

Yet we get £9m and Arsenal got £22m...

If you factor in the fact RVP openly said he wanted to leave it's even worse.

Don't be silly, rvp has, including this year, been the stand out striker in the prem for 3 years, was on 100k a week and shown tremendous loyalty to his club, tevez has been a twat and with that it deflates his value- it's called upward and downward curve, tevez is the 2nd one!
Tremendous loyalty?

You mean the player who was injury ridden throughout his Arsenal career yet the club persisted and stuck by him, to only say he's not signing a new contract and wants to leave off the back of one stand out season to one of their biggest rivals?

Before he had been sold, Tevez and RVP each had one season of 30+ goals. Yet, Tevez's next best consisted of 29 and 23 and RVP's consisted of 22 and 20.

RVP carried Arsenal as much as Carlos carried us in the past.

£9m for for a player of Tevez's standards is a steal, especially given the comparison.

I'm merely pointing out that the criteria that you used to justify £9m for Tevez wasn't exactly correct.

You're are ignoring, not pointing anything out - he played 144 times for arsenal from the new contract he signed in 2009, scoring 89 goals - absolute shite and injury ravaged, he had 6 months out with a cruciate 2009/10, He has got better and better after that injury, where is this 1 season tag come from????

Tevez has in the same period played 109 games and scored 58 goals (most coming in the first 18 months), handed in 3 transfer requests, had a 6 months holiday because he felt like it and disrespected the club because he's a merc,,, if you can't see the difference or attach the difference in value, so be it!

€11m. Get the fuck out of town. I would rather keep him for a year and let him leave on a free next summer. He can be one of the best strikers in the world on his day, keep him, he will be needed at some point next season.

11 million euros is a terrible price for Carlos Tevez.
Anyone who defends this is biased.
Go on youtube and pull up a compilation of Tevez's skils and goals. Just pretend he doesn't play for us and watch a few.
Then tell me how much you'd value him, even in the last year of his contract.
But we fawn over players that have half the talent at twice the orice everyday.
And yet we justify it by saying he's lost it or he's on a downward spiral...bullshit
Tevez can get in any strike force in Britain, he would be first choice at Madrid and Barcelona, he would start at Bayern.
Talk about not knowing what you have till you lose it

Take your poster down and get back on youtube window licker!!!

Tevez was the third most wasteful striker in the entire league last season. How is that not deterioration compared to a few years ago when he carried us on his back? 13% or 15% (I forget) of chances converted.

Is that a surprise to you?
Seeing that our game was so narrow last season and we were faced by human walls 95% of the time?
Tevez tries to make things happen, not just play around in circles.
Yes he loses the ball and yes he shoots of target .
But what was the alternative when the "barcelona in slow motion" style we were playing wasn't working?
Try giving your stats context.
Its not like he was missing sitters like Dzeko

People overrating Tevez because he was one of the best City players in a shit season.

Tevez best days are behind him. He is overpaid and with only one year contract. Not worth much more than that. Either he isn't signing another contract with acceptable terms with the club, or Pellegrini doesn't want him.

Not to mention RVP's wages at Arsenal weren't astronomic.

Not nearly as many bidders for Tevez because they can't afford him
They are at United, more so than Tevez's now.

So if people "can't afford" Tevez, yet RVP had more suitors, it doesn't really add up.

-- Jun 7th, '13, 18:46 --

His attitude towards the club bears no link to his value as a player.

Again, I'm pointing out your criteria used to justify £9m for Tevez was wrong.

Also, this is a list of RVP's injuries at Arsenal;

So yeah, injury ridden was being nice...

I'd sell him for £5m because I don't see him as a playing asset any more. Not as a top 4 striker anyway
