CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

*** BREAKING NEWS *** World Health Organisation launch investigation into Manchester City Football Club.

A well-placed source who would only speak upon guarantee of anonymity said Medical Professionals were intensely concerned about a global outbreak of urinary tract pain due to an uncontrolled surge in piss-boiling over the past 24 hours.

HAHAHAHHA

Yea. Not losing any sleep. Cheating a rigged game isn’t cheating in my book. Sadly the game is still rigged and the scrutiny likely to be even more intense so best be careful.

I’m as pleased as shit with the outcome. But let’s not forget a big reason is that the clock ran down on some offences so the club has to learn from and avoid those mistakes.

EDITED to add. I think the whole FFP was a Pulling The Ladder Up exercise by Old Money and should be abolished.

Well there were other charges that were not time barred and CAS ruled that there was no evidence that we had done anything wrong. That may very well have been the same for the incidents they were unable to rule on.

.

What mistakes? You are assuming we were guilty of some offences that had time expired, protecting us.
The wording of the judgement isn't in full, so nobody knows the actual meaning yet.
They way i'm reading it, is that some of the "charges" were not valid. since they exceeded UEFA's own time rules. Therefore we had nothing to defend/answer to. That doesn't mean we were guilty of them etc.

@karen7 is famous on RAWK:

“But the thing is, the bald one has to replace Silva, Fernandinho and Aguero, and find a centre half to fill Kompany’s boots. He might fool the Karen7’s of this world that Foden is the new Messi, but he needs big money to get in replacements. And without Champions league, he is going to need bigger wages to convince star players to sit at home watching CL on their 96” plasma screens”

Will be interesting to see the full ruling but my bottom line is that if our activities fall foul of a law rigged to stop challengers to Utd and their ilk and we ‘got away with it’ then good on us.

Their entire debt burdened business model Is one big cheat in any meaningful sense of the term.

You can’t cheat a rigged game.

We probably technically are because the rules were written by cheats to trap New Money clubs and keep them out.

But as far as I’m concerned you cannot cheat cheaters. Unjust rules are made to be bent or broken so we are guilty of nothing whatsoever.

It is being widely reported that nobody associated with City knew the decision on Friday. Same at UEFA's side. It was genuinely given to both parties yesterday morning a couple of hours before it was published. That's kinda mental. We really did take a 'shit or bust' approach with this case.

Looking forward to the full judgment and Stefan's analysis of it. Will be interesting to see what it says, but my bet is it'll say more or less that everything in the leaks pre 2014 the panel simply couldn't look at, and the only post 2014 issue was the Etihad sponsorship deal which UEFA were never going to be able to prove anything about.

In the end it really was as simple as a lot of us thought it would be at the start in terms of what the main issues at play were.

ALLEGED offences.

CAS will have looked at our assertion that they couldn't reopen something that was beyond UEFAs own self imposed 5 year limit, they would have then set them aside without even considering them. Believe it or not, that doesn't make us guilty.

Some of them of course weren't time limited and CAS stated that they weren't self funded, therefore the implication is that the time barred stuff would also have passed muster.

You're buying into the media and opposing fans way of thinking.
