CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Yeah I just saw this. Maybe I should learn to not just go with the shocking headline.

In fairness to Jose, he says that he doesnt know what was the correct decision but if you are found not guilty, why should you have to pay anything? £1, or £9m, it doesnt matter. You are innocent, you should not have to pay. A lot of people on here (myself included) said the exact same thing yesterday.
Because we were guilty on the non-cooperation charge we had to pay a fine. We chose not to co-operate deliberately and knew we would face a fine. It was the right tactic.

Eloquently and beautifully put in prose that you have to wonder why some of the British Medias self confessed sports journalists can't mange to think along the same lines let alone conduct themselves in a similar manner. But then it wouldnt get the clicks would it...its all they care about. Sports journalism in search of truth or revealing content is dead in this country and has been replaced by nodding dogs and lickspittle Uriah Heaps with no integrity and even less moral compass.

Stand up for your rights, And justice will prevail

Your mention of Uriah Heep took me back to Very `eavy, Very `umble.
`Look at Yourself`
remains a great, ballsy number however the lyrics to `Wake Up (Set Your Sights)` seem very apt at this moment.

These lyrics resonated in particular:

"There in the morning flying over the hills
While many are yawning they are crushed by our wills

Never have I witnessed people in fear
Not like today, not in many a year"

The rest :

Oh yeah
Wake up, set your sights
For never shall we fail
Stand up for your rights
And justice will prevail
You're listening through endless nights
And decision is your goal
So wake up, set your sights
For the time is right for your role
Yeah for your role, yeah, yeah

Wake up, wake up, wake up
Set your sights
Never, never, never
Shall we fail
Stand up, stand up, stand up
For your rights
Justice, justice, justice
Will prevail

There in the morning flying over the hills
While many are yawning they are crushed by our wills
Never have I witnessed people in fear
Not like today, not in many a year
Go kill another, there are more close behind
"No" screams a mother, "are you of your mind?"
Though they are shattered they just don't seem to yield
Bodies are scattered in all part of the field
Oh no, did I tell you what would happen if you tried
"Oh God stop this killing," said a young man
Before he died

Wake up, set your sights
For never shall we fail

Stand up for your rights
And justice will prevail

We still have Sméagol to say what he’s told to say and we will have the full set of wankers.
Klopp and Mourinho basically peddled shit today either they are thick or fucking liars, this perpetual myth that City can spend what they want needs to be debunked, we need someone at the club to point out the players we couldn’t afford, point out who have the biggest wage bill and the ask who is getting value for money. Obviously a compliant shithouse media help peddle the bullshit but that doesn’t mean we should front up to them again and again.

anyway fuckem we won they lost.
City!

Any insight into Rob Harris’s comment after the cup final last year when he asked Pep if he had taking illegal payments From the owners?. I really hope the club go after him now and sue him
I really think we could have got him on this. Just posing the allegation as a question doesn't get him off the hook. It was a defamatory comment and if we sued Harris he would have to prove it was true (the burden of proof falls to him in a Civil Action). He made the allegation at a public press conference seen by millions of people which would have impacted on the size of damages. However, and this is a bit ironic, I think we are out of time because in the UK you need to launch such a defamation action within 12 months.

Giving up on Twatter for a few weeks, finding it depressing the amount of sheep who are just quoting bullshit peddled as fact, nobody knows anything more than what CAS have published so for the rhetoric to now be 'City got away with it because it was time barred' just shows the contempt the media have for our club, the fact they are continuing this which hunt says it all, we will NEVER get them on side.

I actually think he's being very fair in that. Albeit from an incredibly uninformed understanding of whats happened.

We were punished for not cooperating with the investigation, not for what we were accused of.

His grasp on English is brilliant, but he still exerts Portuguese culture through his communication (the tone he uses and the dry, slightly abrupt responses).

Jose is quite amusing.

He may or may not have deliberately missed the point of what the fine was for but he is right, the fine is a disgrace: it's far too high. UEFA were out of order and City's non-compliance was not unreasonable.

Didn’t stop people misquoting him.

Absolute Radio’s 6pm headlines tonight involved “Jose Mourinho says City escaping a ban is a disaster for football”.

He didn’t even say anything close to that.

Even stations/sources not involved in football are in the fucking agenda.
