CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

United receiving state funding? Never! Actually, didn’t this also happen in 1965 when they received government money to build the cantilever stand in advance of the World Cup?
Correct that is the case, didn’t they also get state funding for building a stand prior to Euro 96?

Sam Lee is desperate for there to be something in next week’s CAS report. Still holding out that we might be guilty in some round about away. Doesn’t consider us ‘not guilty’ that’s for sure.

I'm really intrigued by this obsession with Sam Lee. What you just said was a lie.

He's literally just responded to Bayern's CEO saying "it was a bad day for football" with "why can't they wait for the full release?" - which is exactly the sentiment of City fans.

He's also said today he thinks the full award will be great for City, with the reasoning that it's why Guardiola was bullish in the press conference.

Yesterday someone came on here and said he was retweeting a highly critical article from a liverpool echo writer - an outright lie. It didn't happen. But the usual crew piled in on it, as they will from this complete fiction.

It's just so bizarre. I've never even seen it with people that every City fan hates like Delaney. No one just completely invents things they've said.

There next upgrade will be when we have the World Cup and payed by the tax payer.

Think they will be made Public. The press would just say we were hiding something otherwise.

Im sure there are many more who believed the media in exactly the same position. They will follow his optimism and provide job saving clickbait for him.

How long before they now start spouting about a European league invite only? Not sure how they are going to push that this is good for competition and football.

Surprised they haven’t gone down this Root already?!

Any team who has won the champions league 3 times or more goes directly into the champs league pot 1 even if that team is in the conference.

It’ll be fine.
They’ll carry on winning for a few years, then have no cash, fold, get reformed as a new club and pick up all the assets of the old (hello Rangers) with no debt, Tebas will create a rule to allow them to start in level 2, promotion ...and so, one year later normality returned.
Or they’ll refinance the debt again and again as they struggle to service it, after receiving tax forgiveness and favourable capital valuations from municipal authorities, before selling several parcels of land for said over-valuations and purchasing them back for a fraction of the sell price.

Your and my scenarios are further illustrations of the point I was making. Barca will be carried even despite their poor management, as they have been numerous times in the past, and FFP (current state) will have very little issue with it.

Other, smaller clubs have no hope of ever catching up (especially in Spain), which is by design.

Since when have Barcelona operated with a £40m surplus to pay this sort of money back each year. They have been sinking further and further into debt year on year. There will be state funding by the back door to cover this sort of debt. I’d also have as a guess that the stadium rebuild costs will hugely overrun. Another year of zero attendance at the Camp Nou could hit the Catalan tax payer very hard because there will no doubt, be a state bailout and I wonder what senor Tebas will make of that?
Exactly my point, mate. And there is already municipal funding, in various forms — they’ll be supported because they are “too big to fail” and the other clubs slowly folding even after many years of sustainable growth and competent management will be told to **** off when they look for assistance. Then some will attempt the ‘finance via cheap debt’ strategy, only to fail some time later, anyway, at which point the club can be purchased for a fraction of actual value and the new owners can start again.

That is the world FFP has really further enabled, rather than reformed.
