We could well have named Parry as the source of the leaks and our reason for non-cooperation.

There are plenty of candidates - certainly more plausible is UEFA's head of media is formerly 15 years in the job at United.

The time has now come to issue Senor Tebas with a writ telling him that we will now be suing him for both slander and libel. We are looking for a sum of £10 million in damages.

When you look at these things in isolation, we must also factor the means, the motive and the ability to cover their tracks - Parry was perhaps too close to it for him to be directly leaking to the media.

I'd argue it needs to be a couple of people removed and someone who is already accustomed to briefing, yet can count on media people having their back?
