Casual staff at City - club confirm they will be paid

I think the tweet from City made it obvious that fans really struggling to make the last direct debit payment should contact the Club to discuss and maybe there is some leeway? Maybe some Blues can be helped by the Club not taking the direct debit for April.

There are plenty of others who have signed up to a 1 year interest free loan and don’t want to honour the terms of the agreement. It’s a bit like lending people money who pull a fast one.

We'll probably disagree again, but there's no way the club should be taking payments until confirmation that the season can actually finish. So far there at 5 games left to play at home, people have paid 9 out of 10 installments. City shouldn't be taking this money.

They should also be paying staff and their silence on this is defeaning still

I am all for paying staff Sean who are regular workers for City. If City aren’t replying to staff then that’s poor even in the current unique situation.

People who have paid for a season ticket (and aren’t in financial trouble) should wait until the Club know what is happening with the rest of the season. Equivalent discounts off next season’s season card for cancelled games is fair IMHO. People calling the Club c**ts (not you I know) for not offering immediate refunds aren’t really fans.

completely disagree. We shouldn’t have to wait until we know what’s happening with the season. That could be months away.

the club should pause all direct debit payments and resume if the season starts. Lots of other companies have managed to do that.

the club should be reducing season ticket prices next season anyway. Millions of people potentially out of work/ worse off....

and the silence from the club regarding paying staff if very alarming. Stewards and catering staff who work directly for the club haven’t been paid. But other clubs are paying their staff somehow. They have similar issues around agency workers aswell

I agree about paying staying staff as I said in my previous response.

if you can’t afford the April direct debit payment then contact the Club and talk it through with them. I think City would help if people are really struggling.

If there are people who aren’t struggling and want a refund on a season card they have committed to paying for and the season hasn’t been cancelled, then I suspect these Blues can’t handle Liverpool running away with the League.

Going off the club's response to the current crisis it's almost like the club is run by Capitalists.
What we have seen in this crisis is confirmation that the club's communications operation is truly sub-standard. Not really a surprise given what we have seen in recent years with ticketing problems, poor communication to fans, a crap website, and dreadful media relations. In most ways we are a world class organisation but our Comms has not been right for many years.

Actually it is 6 Games - Newcastle, Bournemouth, Norwich, Burnley, Arsenal and VARapool. Very nearly one third of the PL home games. As I have said before not being able to attend these matches would mean that the Club owe me £107.37 - I expect them to reimburse me or knock it off the next season card, whenever that may be.

It seems what we are discovering is that there are some in the leadership at City that do not give a fuck about the concept of City being a football club. If we can afford to deliver food to our players' front doors then we can afford to pay matchday and casual staff so they can feed their families.

In normal circumstances id agree with you. But these aren’t normal circumstances. It shouldn’t matter if you can or can’t afford it. Missing 6 games is actually quite a lot of money that most people would want back.

we are in a crisis, where millions of people could lose their jobs and become poor. The right thing to do is to suspend dd payments and refund season ticket holders

there’s not a chance there will be crowds at this season either

other companies such as gyms, sky, music concerts have offered refunds or frozen payments for upcoming events. It’s not that bizarre a concept
