Casual staff at City - club confirm they will be paid

My son was working as a tour guide matchdays and sometimes in the holidays
He was on zero hours contract,is there any grounds for him being paid ?

Thanks

I thought that for zero hours contracts you only get paid for the hours you are requested to work so if the club don’t offer work then there’s no pay.

Arsenal the latest club to pay matchday staff - what are City playing at?

actually getting embarrassing now. we should be paying all staff who work at city

I’ve seen that stewards and people in catering who work directly for the club haven’t been paid. It’s Making us look terrible and could easily be fixed

Have staff found out if they are to be paid or not or is still being decided?

My wife works for City on matchdays. She is employed directly by MCFC and her wage slips are from City. She hasn’t missed working a game in over 3 years often going in ill or getting up at 4.30am for a 12.30 ko or coming home after midnight in all weathers after a night game. She is over £500 down due to recent postponements. She emailed the club on Monday to ask what the club intended to do only to be met by silence. In the meantime Brighton , Palace and even Liverpool and United have announced that they will continue to pay matchday staff during the suspension! It’s extremely poor from City though I fully expect the players and execs will continue to be paid millions? To make it worse she is a huge City fan and prior to her working there we were seasoncard holders for over 15 years!

Absolutely fuckin piss poor from City this. Have you still not heard anything mate?

I think the tweet from City made it obvious that fans really struggling to make the last direct debit payment should contact the Club to discuss and maybe there is some leeway? Maybe some Blues can be helped by the Club not taking the direct debit for April.

There are plenty of others who have signed up to a 1 year interest free loan and don’t want to honour the terms of the agreement. It’s a bit like lending people money who pull a fast one.
