My mate is now resigned the fact that he'll get a 3 match ban.Was wondering if he would be refunded for the 3 matches missed
Nothing to stop you purchasing him a ticket for these games, its not like they have photo I'd on the turnstiles.

No, but once you're in, and if you get caught the penalties can be pretty stiff. In this day and age you're very well monitored inside the ground ... if you DO get back in, make sure you're in a different stand or tier - if the stewards who threw you out see you the next week you're in deep crap (and they can have long memories).

This problem will never leave us, can see arguements from both smokers and none smokers.

They ground was not built to accomadate smokers ie metal cages outside attached to the stadium. It would be mpossible to now do this.

Your not going to contract lung cancer from it.....

It absolutely does cause cancer - even a small sustained exposure - say, 2 mins every two weeks, in certain people, can cause cancer. All it takes is a single cell in the trillions you have to successfully mutate and start dividing and that's it, you've got cancer. Thankfully it's not that easy for it to happen, but inhaling a bunch of toxic substances, in any quantity over any period, increases the risk substantially.

It didnt bother anyone back in the day - Why such an uproar now.

I think people were bothered by the smell and choke of second hand smoking, but the public are now more aware of the risks. It's one thing being irritated by second hand smoke, but another altogether sat/stood there thinking it might kill you.

BEST LAWYER/ INSURANCE STORY OF THE YEAR,
DECADE, AND POSSIBLY THE CENTURY.

This took place in Charlotte North Carolina.

A lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against, among other things, fire. !!

Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these
great cigars, the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company.
In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost 'in a
series of small fires..' The insurance company refused to pay, citing
the obvious reason, that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal
fashion.

The lawyer sued and WON! (Stay with me.)

Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance
company that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that
the lawyer held a policy from the company, in which it had warranted that
the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them
against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable
'fire' and was obligated to pay the claim.

Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the
insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the
lawyer for his loss of the cigars that perished in the 'fires'.

NOW FOR THE BEST PART...

After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him
arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!!
With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous
case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally
burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a
$24,000 fine.

This true story won First Place in last year's Criminal Lawyers
Award contest.
ONLY IN AMERICA :-) !!
Hoax. :-) But still funny.

It does cause cancer, pretty naive to think it doesn't. My ex's father in law, who I was good friends with, got lung cancer through passive smoking.
Also, in regards to people never having a problem with it in the old days, thats because it was allowed then. Its not allowed now so those who do have a problem with it shouldn't have to put up with it.

Why do so many people get worked up about it?

You go in for a piss - your out in 2 mins - Whats the big problem?

Your not going to contract lung cancer from it.....

on level 1 it takes longer than 2 minutes to fight your way into the bogs past the massed ranks of smokers to the stones.

The law was not introduced because it smells, it was introduced because it harms people.
