Well 3rd really as he came on before Balo...on Sunday anyway

He probably brought Dzeko on in front of Balotelli on Sunday as it was extremely early in the game and Mario hasn't had a pre-season this year and has had conjunctivitis in the past week. Had Sergio gone off after an hour, Bobby could well have brought Balotelli on in front of Dzeko.

Ah yes a bit like that QPR game end of season

Silly answer. Different reasons in different game. We were pumping balls into the box at a rate of about 2 per minute, but had no height in there. Perhaps you noticed Mancini eventually told even Kompany to go play upfront for his height, too? No? Didn't see that? Who was it that ran off the ball and pulled the defender away as Aguero picked up the ball for 93:20?!

C'mon, we can do better than this, can't we?!

To get back to the OP, I would trade Cavani for Dzeko because he is a more well rounded player and technically more gifted. However, Cavani would currently cost about twice what we could get for Dzeko, so I'm not sure that is a good trade, especially given Dzeko has not been a consistent first team regular.

During the summer I asked for Martinez and Cavani. Period. At this point, I would take Martinez, because I don't believe Cavani is coming anywhere near Manchester anytime soon.

Silly response to be fair, but yes Martinez looks possible

Re: Cavani. (cont)

Bosnians massively over-rate Dzeko and many City fans on here equally under-rate him. He is a very good striker who just needs the right supply to make him a 20+ goals a season player. He doesn't suit our style of play but isn't good enough to warrant us changing our style just to suit him when we already have Aguero and Tevez up front.

Have a look at the post before this one. Do you think Rodwell is our first choice CM ? Or did he play cos others were'nt fit ? It's not difficult. Useless point ? I wouldn't be so harsh on yourself .
You quoted fact and fact it was not, fuck all to do with Rodwell.

I like probably and could of, much better than an incorrect fact.

Opinions are like arseholes, we've al got one :) bookmark this and come back to it when Edin leaves and Balo's still here. Never cease to be amazed by the way usually decent posters on here lay into others with a different opinion, not that it bothers me as I'd have to value someone's opinion to be concerned by it. Enjoy the rest ofthe evening !
you quoted a fact, it wasn't, I pointed it out as such and I'm laying in to you. Your opinion is fine with me, but facts are right or it ain't so.

Don't think it is silly to be honest. Spending £30m+ on Cavani seems a lot of money for a small improvement in the team. Would he be happy to play a supporting role to Aguero and Tevez? It would also take him time to bed in, which could cost us points.

Mancini was "disciplining" Mario at the end of last season after the Arsenal debarcle and so had falled down the pecking order.

I think Dzeko is underrated by a lot here. He looks gangly and not as graceful as other players in our side, but we are talking about world class players! He comes up with important goals at important times - QPR, home and away, Spuds and last week as well. He has a superb attitude (Munich away apart) and is an asset to our squad.

In signing Cavani we would be gaining another world class player, but not in an area where one is needed.

We have struggled over the summer with transfers as we are either in for elite players to slot straight into the team, who are extremely hard to prize away from their current teams or we are in for younger players brought in to fill gaps created by injuries/AFCON. These players wouldn't get much game time and so most aren't interested in joining.

He will score goals though but for me he just doesn't influence the play enough for me which why I don't rate him anywhere near the standard of Aguero or Tevez, just a matter of preference. The same goes for Balo really, who is very inconstant, I don't think there's room for both of them in the long term but I can see any of our big name strikers leaving this summer.

But there aren't many arseholes that I find worth listening to...........especially here.

I agree, with the right supply he could score alot more goals. Fact is we play around the box, try one-twos and sly passes into the box. We also do not cross as much as other teams so he doesn't get the right service from there either.
