Cavani (continued)

Man utd do not have a fucking better squad than us, rvp is the best in the league at the moment and has carried them because rooneys gone off the boil.

If he got injured sunday we'd walk the league. My rag mates say exactly the same.

And there is no higher authority than one's rag mates.

United have not played better than us. But that really doesn't matter. If we played 10 games against the Rags on neutral ground we'd win 7 of 10.

We didn't 'walk it' last Season when they didnt have RVP - DID WE??

I dont normally bother with red talk but I have had chats over a pint twice recently with utd fans and the basic gist from them seems to be as follows.
If you go pick and combined best 11 from city and utd both fans i talked to would have the city team apart from having RVP, Rooney and Carrick in it. I make that 8 of ours and 3 of theirs.
It doesnt sound like they have the best players to me.

Surely Aguero should be in there instead of Rooney!?

Why did they finish level on points with us last season then without rvp.

because of their manager's will to win, his never say die attitude and the fact that they got a hell of a lot of referee's decisions go their why

The'yre annual 10-20 points off the officials kept them in it and I wouldn't swap Sergio for Rvp.

We got 89 points, should we have got the full 114? Ji offside(-1) Richards against Swansea wrongly disallowed(-1) should have had a pen at 0-1 v Chelsea, ended up losing the game (-3) that would have took us to just 3 points behind Chelsea's Premiership record of 96.

I wasnt agreeing or disagreeing. I actually think Rooney wouldnt be in the side. I was merely giving the view of Utd fans I have spoken to.

agree with every word.

The reason I am apprehensive on Cavani, is because he scores too many goals on the counter attack at speed and I am yet to be convinced on his ball-to-feet and passing ability when playing teams sitting on the edge the box. Also, how will he adapt to being in a system that plays to dominate the ball and utilizes 2 strikers?

This is my biggest fear summed up:
Summer 2013 - Cavani will join on a 250k per week, 5 year contract.
January 2014 – Struggling to make an impact – little goals and cannot impose himself on games
May 2014 – Cavani finishes a frustrating year in Manchester with 15 goals in 45 games.
Summer 2014 – New players signed to attempt to suit Cavani’s style of play.
January 2015 – Mancini sacked. Board wants new manager to play to Cavani’s style –system is altered.

I can see this unfolding.

Exactly my point. Cavani is too big a risk. I don't want to emulate the debacle that is Stamford Bridge

The only grounds I could see Mancini sacked is if we continually underperform in the Champions League. I think he will be given another couple of goes in getting that right. As for Cavani, both he and Falcao are risks, but both are worth taking a gamble on.
