Quick hypothetical situation & question for those saying "just pay the €63m".
Say you won £1m on the lottery, would you spend £300,000 on a £100,000 Lamborghini just because you could? No you wouldn't & if you said "fuck it yeh why not?" Then if you won £1m I can guarantee you it'd be gone within 2 months & you'd be back at square one or worse!
Well it's the same with the club, we won't spend €63m on a player even though we can when we know in reality he's probably worth around €45m max.

This sums it up for me.

There is nobody I want more this Summer other than Cavani, but paying €63m for him would be outrageous.

To think Madrid might be getting Suarez for around €40m and Lewandowski is on the market for €25m, all three players have similar if not exact goal returns.

Just too expensive and too much of a risk to take if you ask me.

apparently real are gearing up to bid for cavani now and thats his first choice. i wouldnt be too disappointed if he went there because he is overpriced but i'd rather pay the 60m than him go to chelsea. what worries me is our lack of plan b, we've been linked with lewan but hes either going to the rags or bayern, seems to be we are sniffing around el Shaar but hes far from proven.

Higuain is a very good call as he'd link up well with Aguero and he was very effective under Pellegrini at Real Madrid.

But he's wanted by Juve and Arsenal if you believe the rumours.

We've signed two top players, but a striker is the priority signing, and ideally complete the deal before pre-season starts. So decision time is approaching

I think he'd choose us over arsenal and juv without even giving it a second thought . Got done Argentinian mates in the team that would help swing it .

this: Cavani has a contract with
Napoli. One of the clauses in
that contract is that any club
that offers €63m will have their
offer accepted by Napoli and
may negotiate personal terms
with the player. Until such time
as a club offer €63m, Napoli
don't have to do anything unless
they wish to accept a lower
offer. If someone offers €63m
then Napoli are duty bound to
accept that offer.

Would of fitted in nicely last year, with the methodical build up, but I expect slicker faster football and he would not provide this imho.

I doubt Vidal is attainable, at least at a reasonable fee.

For 60mil, we could get Isco, Thiago, David Villa and Shaw for example.
