Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

I bet if he does go to Madrid the headline will be

"Cavani snubs City for Madrid" no mention of any other clubs who are chasing him

"My son has told the whole family that he wants to play for Real Madrid but he can't come out and say it publicly because it will annoy Napoli" said his Dad whilst telling the whole world that his son has said he want's to go to Madrid and in the process annoying Napoli.

Parents, who needs them?

Im sure we have formed some kind of agreement with Real, it wouldn't make sense to drive the prices up and compete on every player available. A gentlemans agreement of sorts. The players who are possibly open to big moves include Suarez, Bale, Cavani, Isco and Levandowski. I could see it being a case of Suarez and Bale to Real if they allow us to have Cavani and Isco without any driving up prices.

I'm sure some "Agreement" of them sorts maybe possible with Barca, due to the personel we have now, but because of them same personel, I can't see Real agreeing to things like that after alot of water passing under the bridge before.

Be nice to hope for though
City and barca's Exec's are supposed to be in conflict

Legal action, spying claims etc.

Exactly, despite the ties to Barca, we actually have a very severed relationship with them according to reports. I am just speculating as it seems to make sense to have an unofficial strategy with Real.

I wonder what De Laurentis will make of comments which might as well have stated let's forget an auction of any kind, then?

Strange way of trying to earn a supposed dream move to Real Madrid, not helping Napoli to realise as much of the buy-out clause price.

Would not be surprised to see these quotes from Cavani's dad denied in the next few days, to bring the pot back up to a boil.

Trying to be all things to all people. Thankfully, City seem wise to this and have imposed our own deadline.

What's get me is the Falcoa to Monaco bit, if you read between lines you would suggest its a stop gap for RM next year. I've always thought Aguero would one day play for RM when he's finished here. I wonder if its just Cavani's people trying to get RM interested?

I'm fairly sure this gentleman's agreement would be known as 'price fixing' in the corporate world, with heavy consequences if found guilty since you've essentially closed off an open market.

I agree with you on that, I just can't see why Falcao would go to Monaco unless it was to ease his transfer to Real. That said, people have mentioned he is one of the many players now owned by 3rd parties and therefore had to go where the money was. I think from those that have some knowledge about transfer dealings it is a case of wait and see. We are interested but we will not pay over the top for Cavani and as Tolmie just stated we also have given Napoli a time limit to decide. Strong and decisive from us and that is the best way.

Easy, let's keep Edin, guaranteed 20 plus goals, Cavani can't guarantee that.

I accept that keeping Dzeko and seeing how he performs under the new manager is a completely reasonable suggestion but in what way does Dzeko guarantee us 20+ goals a season and Cavani not? Since he has been in Europe Cavani's goal scoring rate is significantly better than Dzeko's.
