Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

Its not difficult to see the what the acts in the play are

Madrid are waiting to see whats going to happen with Bale and Ronaldo

before sorting anything with Higuain and Cavani.

Real have basically put a "Save the date" card into Bale, Cavani, Lewendowski and Isco, and they are just playing the game.

Unfortunately, any of the above players are going to wait and see what comes of it before commiting to another club, we at the moment have to wait in line.

Not sure the players have that much power in the transfer. the club owners of these players want a return. letting the player wait to see if they are wanted by Real Madrid will half their transfer value.

I think we are still in with a 35% chance of signing him (35% RM, 30%Chelski). My issue now is a horrible feeling that if we do, then RM will be back for him in 12 or 18 months and maybe at a much lower rate if the player pushes for the move. This would also allow RM to focus on there other targets such as Bale in this window. Unless Cavani can appease Txiki about his Dads statements and his intentions I personally would be tempted to pull out and look elsewhere now for an option that can grow with us without any publicised preferences for other suitors. If Edi signs I will be very suspicious of his loyalty to his contract initially.

If Cavani ends up at Real Madrid could it make Morota available? Two young players as backup to 2 senior strikers in a team that may be likely to play only 1 striker anyway.

Guidetti as backup to Aguero?
Morota as backup to Dzeko?

I think we could play a 4231 even if its not Pelligrini's form. With the 3 being from Isco, Silva, Tevez (if he stays), Nasri, Milner, Navas or Lopes.... Even Yaya or Rodwell too. I can't see 2 traditional strikers fitting into our 11 when our game is built on midfielders with skill.

According to Oddschecker Chelsea are still the favorites to sign him at around 4/5. Most of the others have us at around 3/1 but Victor Chandler has us at 12/1.
Think i may pop down to the bookies & have £20 on.

I would personally rather have lewandowski ! Much cheaper as Dortmund aren't in a strong position ! And also I fear with cavani he could be a little like dzeko (. Touch like a trampoline ) lewandowskis touch is unreal can hold it up and amazing finishing !

If we really believe we need a striker & we really believe we need a creative midfield player, then the key is to have two backups who are as close to the standard of our main targets as possible.

If we are competing with the top clubs for players, we can easily lose out, just as they have lost out to us with players like Silva & Aguero.

Aguero was a prime example of the backup player being better than the main target (Sanchez).

Now Mancini is gone, it should be easier for the suits to change targets if things look like going pear shaped.

shouldn't you be in court you kiddy fingereing twat?(allegedly)

what?

ah.. carry on its not you
Haha

Just got in folks, reading in the papers that both Cavani and Isco will turn us down. Are we having a really bad day at the office, or are these just rubbish stories?

If what he says he wants is true do we seriously need another big-name who really wants to be somewhere else and is only here for the money. Of course money is important these days but we at least need players who want to be here as well not someone who reluctantly comes as some sort of 3rd choice who is then in the press as "discontented" every 5 minutes.

In all honesty Manchester doesn't offer a great deal in comparison to Madrid, Barcelona, Milan etc (or even London, except for the weather is about the same). We need to accept that and take it into account when buying players. I have often wondered if this is what really lies behind United's signings as they have traditionally tended to buy more players who are already in the PL or British and in lower leagues. It's the same thinking that has gone into Moyes appointment and it's difficult to argue with their past success. (Moyes may be a bridge too far in my opinion!)

Manchester is not everyone's first choice of a place to spend their lives and we really need to take that into account when buying

What are you on about, i lived in London, hated it. Been to Madrid- to hot in the summer, Barcelona to many pick pockets and slow builders, been building that church for decades. Manchester great fun, friendly and love our football. A nice 5 million house in Cheshire and able to go out without getting pounced on. i know where i would choose.

Edinson has set his heart on Real Madrid says his Father so who do we go for instead?

This saga is becoming a big arse now.
If we get him, then brilliant. If he chooses Real Madrid (like most players would) then we have to move to our next target.
Hopefully, one of either Lewandowski, Martinez or at a pinch Wilfried Bony.
