It's only dead when he's either holding up a Chelsea or Madrid shirt, the nasri transfer rumbled on for months one minute he was at united then arsenal insisted he was staying the next he was signing for us. If city want him they will play the long game and get him at the price we want in August, Napoli seem to be touting him to everyone to get the money out of city. You think Madrid would pay the full asking price for cavani when they could buy Suarez for less? This should hopefully give city the impetus to seal the deal

If he really wanted to come it would have been signed sealed and delivered by now,as he must be fully aware as how long we have been chasing him.
Statement must be iminent "City pull plug on Cavani ..."

Translated in Tabloid speak to "Cavani snubs City"

No doubt about that G.

I don't want to Cavani. Price too high.

Price isn't too high if its guaranteed 30 goals a season which was the difference between us winning and losing the league last year, where else will we find that in the market?

exactly all clubs take the risk when buying a player at any price but we need to get players like cavani no matter what it costs and im sure if it helped bring the league or champions league the owners and fans would think every penny spent was well worth it.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

why do people say dont want this or that player because the fee is too high,WHAT THE FUCK HAS IT GOT TO DO WITH YOU how much he costs the people who pay the money will know exactly how much we can or cant pay.

i dont want cavani because hes too much, fucking laughable.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

Think this is dead in the water for both us and Chelsea now especially with mourinho mentioning working within the constraints of FFP.

Be interesting to see what happens if Tevez is sold. Surely we must have some other irons in the fire

This 'GUARANTEED 30 goals a season' stuff is comical. I don't think anyone disputes Cavani is a very good player. Perhaps even great.
But so was Schevchenko and so was Torres and Samaras (Ha ha!) and many more who looked great in other Leagues. There are NO guarantees EVER in Premier League Football.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

I think Cavani is a quality player but I have to agree. If it means signing two or three players instead we should look else where. If he got injured or anything happened then the money is wasted. I am sure he would score loads more goals. For me Dzeko is a clinical striker and used in the right way could be brilliant for City. He is not a striker who will show the fight and determination of others but if its a case of simply wanting someone to bang them in then he can do that job.

Aguero is also more than capable of scoring 30 a season, last year he was injured and for whatever reason we werent playing to our full abilities. Adding Fernandinho and Navas provides us with more pace and width and that in turn will mean better opportunities for our strikers. I would rather see Tevez leave than Dzeko because we no longer need his drive and determination, he comes deep to pick up the ball but we have better players to occupy that space now. We need someone who can be on the shoulder ready to score. Aguero and Dzeko are both able to do that and offer different things. Dzeko needs to improve his mentality etc but I am sure he will if shown support from management and fans.

I dont want to turn to stats etc as I hate them. When we were a developing side Dzeko would have done nothing for us as a club whereas Tevez was incredible and stats would not take that into account. I just think Tevez's role in our side is no longer needed because he plays more as an attacking midfielder and we have enough of those.

I agree Dzeko was even more prolific than Cavani

Wanted man: Edinson Cavani is a target for a host of clubs (Picture: Getty)
Napoli star Edinson Cavani has urged Manchester City and Chelsea to firm up their interest with an official bid for his services.

Both the Londoners and City are known to be desperate to land free-scoring Cavani this summer, while Real Madrid also hold an interest.

But the frustrated Uruguayan says that despite his desire to move to a bigger club, he is yet to receive any official offers from those sides chasing him.

‘Everybody wants to play for the biggest clubs in the world, clubs with a lot of tradition,’ said Cavani.
