looks like yet another target missed out on

Its been reported on more than one occasion that Pelle isn`t Cavanis greatest fan and this has been shelved since Bobby left.
Apparently we have enquired but we could go back with an offer in August when his release clause fee expires, assuming he`s still available.

What difference does the release clause expiring make? If we met it we could talk to the player. When it expires there is not a price at which we can talk to the player regardless of what ADL wants. So reportedly he has turned down bids of £40m and wants the release clause in full. When it expires he could turn down a £100m bid if he wanted.

I really think we should move on from Cavani, we are never going to pay any sort of fee De Laurentiis wants.

Chelsea are desperate for a top class number one striker and will eventually give in to any valuation in my opinion, not saying they will pay the full fee but I see them paying 50m euros for him.

Too soon to say he's gone to CFC, but makes sense for them.

They don't have a top class forward and he can play his Napoli role as the central striker with Hazard and Schurrle in support

Doesn't work for us

Every man and his dog has been talking to Cavani. But only we have spoken to Napoli according to De Laurentis.

This is a strange remark that I would welcome further explanation of.

The castrol ratings may not be everybody's cup of tea but as a guide they're not bad.

I have removed Messi and Ronaldo. Here are the next twenty strikers.

L. SUÁREZ
R. LEWANDOWSKI
M. MANDZUKIC
R. VAN PERSIE
Á. NEGREDO
E. CAVANI
K. BENZEMA
Z. IBRAHIMOVIC
FALCAO
P. AUBAMEYANG
S. KIEßLING
I. AGIRRETXE
G. HIGUAÍN
DIEGO COSTA
A. SCHÜRRLE
S. AGÜERO
A. DI NATALE
AMAURI
E. DZEKO
R. SOLDADO

Interesting that Soldado is way below Negredo. Also we already have two guys in this list although rather near the bottom.

Lewandoski would seem better value than Cavani, although he may not be available.

the most interesting thing is that edin fucking dzeko is on there!

Round and round we go, IMO the problem is not agreeing a deal with the player the real problem will be agreeing a fee with Napoli. Any announcement from ADL that Napoli have agreed a fee will almost certainly mean the player is on his way. For me this is the key to this transfer saga and I am not going to believe any of those so called ITKs from twitter. Not sure if ADL himself is on twitter (doubt it) but that is my opinion.

1) We have Aguero

2) And Dzeko

How do they fit in? Can you see Dzeko playing as a wide striker?

3) We dpn't have a left sided forward. Chelsea have two of the best wide forwards in Europe in Hazard and Schurrle.

Cavani has been outstanding for Napoli as a central striker backed by two wide forwards.

Put him in Uruguay's system and he looks very poor.

So at CFC he'd be played to his strengths and it suits CFC too as they don't have a top striker

At MCFC we couldn't play to Cavani's strengths and at the same time it would hurt Aguero or Dzeko.

Not a big fan of Dzeko at City, but I think we will start with what we have. Maybe a young striker will come in in case Guidetti is not as good as some think he is
