I know they don't care, but what will they have to pay to give him what he wants with the 75% tax over there?? Sounds astonishing...I thought with their new tax laws, we would be in the driving seat, but if they are paying all of Ibra's tax then I guess they could...needless to say, they will come up with some wheeze or other ala Beckham to get out of paying some of it...

Wouldn't be the end of the world to end up with Ibra instead of Dzeko but Cavani was forward I most wanted us to sign last summer and still is.
Ibra is very talented but seems the classic "mercenary", reports he clashes with his team mates and chases the wages, (tax going up at PSG so he is leaving).
I would prefer Cavani also.

According to Swedish media Zlatans contract are always negotiated so his salary are "without taxes" = he will always get the same amount in his pocket. The club "pay" his taxes and if the taxes changes the club pay more or less.

This is yet another example of how FFP will ultimately fail.

75% tax in France, say a player wants £5m net which is what top players roughly go for nowadays. In our country we'd pay £9m a season for that. In France they'd have to pay £20m to pay that out!

Granted Qatar wanted to make a name for themselves and choose a beautiful City but fuck me did they read this one wrong. They could have easily bought Lazio and made their name in Rome in a better league domestically with more rivals to face against which makes winning the league more credible.

Talk about paying through the nose. Jesus. If Cavani wants say £7.5m net then we will have to pay about £13.5m, PSG would have to pay £30m! These numbers make my mind boggle. Cost in a 5 year deal and a £50m fee to buy him, you're talking a total transaction of £200m (a quarter of a billion wow!). That's £40m per year on amortisation which is impossible to get away with by the looks of it. Have in mind Aguero is half of that.

PSG may sell Ibra to make it go through but this transfer is too expensive for even them and their big ffp busting balls.

I must be honest I do not get to see much Italian football living in the USA ......how good is Cavani, would he be most people's first choice striker to get in ......if you had to compare him with any player currently in the premiership who would it be ?

He would basically be to us what RVP is to the rags. Fantastic when it comes to putting most chances that come his way into the net. Basically exactly what we have been missing this year.

He would be my first choice, even over Falcao.

72 goals in 100 Serie A games. 19 goals in 25 European games for Napoli.

Best pure striker in europe.

We just have to get Cavani. His potential contribution to the team will be worth the money and then some.
But to be honest, if Txiki, Mancini and Soriano can't bring him to Manchester city then I don't know who the hell can

I agree with this. If the 3 wise men can't shift him to northern England then it would simply be the case that he doesn't want to come here.
