According to the rubbish press the Unholy Roman Empire (Chelski) are closing in quickly on Cavani after missing out on Falcao. I think its quite conceivable that we won't sign Cavani, which will have interesting consequences. I like the idea of El Sharaawy with Kun as an alternative.
All that tells me is that maybe city are close to signing cavani but we can't quite agree on a fee. Therefore Napoli have leaked this to the press to force our hand.

Shades of RVP last season?
...Then goes to PL rivals to help them to the title?

Don't believe to much of what you read, according to reports Chelsea will not match the fee reported to have been offered by Monaco for Falcao - reported at £50m.

With Cavani's buy-out clause at a reported £54.5m what makes you think that chelsea would pay one and not the other. Napoli president De Laurentiis is a shrewd bastard and will not allow him to leave for anything else - if he did then I would be very surprised.

So the reports of all this do not ring true, chelsea wont pay over £50m for Falcao but will pay £54.5m for Cavani....hmmmmmm

And if he did end up at chelsea then Txiki must have another target already identified and tied up.

How much money will they get for winning the EL last night?
Their unexpected CL success last season impacted on their summer signings allowing them to attract and pay for Hazard.

£4.2m prize money (5 million euros)

With Falcao going to Monaco, and Cavani going to either us or Chelsea who does that leave for Madrid? That's what has me worried as they might come back for Kun..Assuming also that Lewandowski leaves for Munich, this leaves no available forwards for Madrid to target..hmm

I think £50m is too much for either of them tbh. I'd obviously be thrilled if we got one of them, but I wouldn't be upset over getting neither and giving Lukaku a proper first team opportunity if this is the money being touted.

I hope so.

Just so long as we get Cavani.

Question is, has he got the balls this time to make the move.

A lot of strikers moving , we might get rid of a few and bring in some new faces but im still gutted we didnt get Robin Van Persie!

That deal alone would have pretty much won us the league this season and we would have at least made it out of that champions league group

It was a no brainer really . too bad we could not ship any strikers out to make room for him coz neither would have it made any sense to have 5 world class strikers nor would van persie have joined us if we had dzeko, aguero, tevez, balotelli as strikers

The better question is, is he stupid enough to make the move?

Where would he play?

Torres, Ba, Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Lampard (more than likely), Ramires, Mikel, arguably Luiz in midfield too.

He's not an out and out striker any more, if ever, he'd be battling Mata for his spot imo and there's no chance he plays ahead of him.

Just looks like Chelsea would be aiding United's transfer fund for a player they want for the sake of having him.

I mean, he's not the sharpest tool in the box but even he has to realise he's not going to walk into their team.

I think he knows his days are numbered and he needs a fresh start, the reaction of the crowd during the parade told it's own story, he's no longer the big fish he thought he was?

Listening to Keys & Gray this am Keys is adamant that Rooney does not want nor has he asked to move.

Sounds like the old pisscan is trying to force him out and Rooney will get the blame - could be interesting !
