I realistically value Yaya at £40m. If we let him go for £30m I'd feel we undersold him. £35m middle ground but Barca would still get a good deal for him there.

Yaya for 40m !

Name a single player who can have impact like Yaya ( 21 goals + 9 Assists)

Someone who always step up in big games ( Newcastle, United, Stoke, Everton....etc)

Yaya is a priceless.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

We can't replace Yaya directly and I think if he goes we will change the way we play.
Fabregas would be perfect. Get ball and pass the others to death!

if its a straight choice between keeping yaya or buying cesc, it's yaya hands down.

I'd still get cesc in though

If Yaya does want to leave though then we are going to have to consider.

Swapping Yaya with Fabregas will be viewed by many as arguably one of the worst transfer dealings in modern times but if Yaya wants out we are going to have to take the hit.

Only by idiots, like I said earlier if we were offered a straight no strings swap I'm sure we'd take it. Lower wages, few years younger, home grown player, still a world class footballer, and we get rid of a prima donna player with a crack pot agent who wanted to leave anyway. It has the added bonus of Cesc already doing the 'big club everyone dreams of' thing, it hasn't worked - Wherever he goes next he could highly likely see his career out with, certainly his best years anyway.

Yaya has his age against him, 30-35m is about right and even then you probably wouldn't get many buyers because they might only get one or two seasons out of him doing what he did this season.

If he was in his mid-twenties and had the season he had just had he could easily fetch 80m.

I agree with this. If Yaya truly wants out and if Barca even want him, I'd be more than happy to do a straight swap for Cesc, for the exact reasons you've stated. Hell, even if Barca don't want him and he does leave, what we get for him I'd put towards Cesc anyway.

Less than ideal but I wouldn't mind it. Cesc is 4 years younger. Mind you, I'd prefer both.

I don't think that Barca wants Toure in that deal anyway. The question is that if you want Fabregas, would you be willing to do a swap deal for Agurero plus cash considering the HG quota too?

I take it we wouldn't be able to sign Fabregas without selling first?

If we do get Fernando and Benatia/Mangala we'd need to sell to get Cesc.

I highly doubt that Barca want Yaya, in fact I'd say it's a dead cert that they don't, but they've also not renewed Cesc's contract and he's probably available for around 30m.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

I'm not sure how I'd feel if we signed him, I can't help but remember his arsy comments after we played them in the Champions league. I also question whether hes good enough to do it consistently in the big games for us.
