Re: Cesc Fabregas
I'm puzzled myself with where he'd fit in with us but people can only go with what they see and hear, he's either 100% coming or it's enough smoke and mirrors that David Copperfield would be proud

IMO his best position is central midfield, but Yaya, Fernandinho, Fernando and Fabregas (and Garcia... he'd have to go, but his agent said the player is 100% staying) would be ridiculous depth and hard to manage for Pellegrini if we continue to play a '2' (we could play a '3', yet then comes the problem of having 4 strikers for 1 position as we'd have to sacrifice one from the starting 11).
We could play Fabregas further forward, but where? He can't play on the flanks and even Silva, who is amazing behind a striker, is often drifting in from the right. So he could replace Milner as a homegrown player but not like-for-like in terms of where he plays. He plays up front a lot for Barcelona, no chance of that here with our wealth of strikers.
I'm just finding it hard to see unless Yaya does leave and there's still no concrete evidence that will happen.
I know it's a squad game, but there are limits on how much top class talent you can have per position before it becomes a problem.
Like, those four would be OK if we switched to a midfield three all the time. But subsequently, that means sacrificing a foward and then we have Aguero, Negredo, Dzeko and Jovetic for one position. It's all about squad balance and I'm just seeing a potential imbalance where something would have to give and a major player (not Milner) sold to facilitate Fabregas' signing.
