Champions League ban?

Love how rival fans are trying to somehow use this to discredit our league domination. Even if all the absolute worst things are true all City would be guilty of is bypassing Uefa's protect the establishment rules, which only apply to the corrupt champions league, something every fan of rival teams are all too quick to note we haven't won or do anything in. It has no impact on any of the titles we have won since the sheikh and I find it utterly hilarious how desperate other fans are to link the two in some attempt to cheapen our historic success and boost their non-achievements during the same period.

As for actually potentially being banned, I think we would go all guns blazing with our lawyers and get this ffp nonsense abolished once and for all if they even thought about banning us, uefa know full well it's a bullshit concept and won't want to jepodise it. If the worst case scenario ever did happen, financial implications aside, i personally wouldnt be remotely bothered, perhaps even welcome it, we would go all out for the domestic titles and make a mockery of Uefa by having the best team in the world not involved in their cash cow competition.

As has been alluded to throughout the thread, I would actually be very surprised if UEFA attempt to impose a ban, as this is as (if not more) dangerous territory for them than for us. A ban would almost certainly lead to very lengthy, very public court proceedings as we challenge it, and FFP in general, as unlawful constraint of business operations and trade. The discovery alone in such a case could be devastating for them, much less the potential findings and outcome (FFP being found to be illegal and unenforceable). UEFA has a soft, dark underbelly that they’ve spent quite a lot of time, effort, and money to prevent being exposed to the world, especially after the ongoing FIFA scandals, and acting to impose such penalties on City now would only incentivise the club to ensure UEFA’s corruption is made visible to all.

In short, they would have to be absolutely sure they not only have an airtight case for illegal manipulation, but also near on complete certainty that FFP would be upheld in a trade law challenge AND that nothing untoward would be made known during all of the proceedings.

I am not sure how they could have such confidence, and I am fairly sure they know City is one of the few clubs in the world resourced sufficiently to potentially take them down, brick by corrupt brick. That is a very big chance to take, especially in the face of reports of desires to form a European super league (regardless of each supporters views on if would be a good idea).

I always thought we would get more bad press from the Der Spiegel “leaks”, and I think we’ll continue to do so, but actual action is likely to be far more limited than Gill, Werner, Rummenigge, Perez, Tebas, and co would like.

You could be right, but I think you're not taking into account that UEFA is not a person, it's a governing body that can function in both self-preserving and self-destructing mode, depending on its officials' private interests. So it's not beyond realms of possibility that G4 can somehow send UEFA on a suicide mission to harm their competitors and self-annihilate, giving birth to a new elite competition on Cartel's terms.

I doubt we will get a ban with all this again the club are clever but emails were hacked so could be some kind of evidence against us. Better get the lawyers booked in just in case.

Where's this word "cheating " come from, it's 11v 11 on the pitch, we've won trophies fair n square, wtf are rags n dippers going on about. Some poxy journalist says something n everyone takes it as gospel, well you little fucking scrotum, we'll see you in court, that's it, he who laughs last laughs loudest.
Was saying the same to some Scouse Muppets last night. This is nothing about the team cheating there just getting on with the job and smashing it again. Silly fuckers still couldn't get it in to there thick heads though .

If they do try it I'm not sure how much we can do about it in truth, hopefully we could take it to the European High Court(if that's what needs to happen?) and win a court case against UEFA but the important thing would be that whatever the outcome, we don't take it lying down for once.

Like it or not CL football is improtant to the players we want to keep and the players we may want to sign, not to mention Pep himself. So it does matter, I know some don't care for the competition for obvious reason but personally I can put all that to one side because I want to see City mixing it up with the best and growing year on year on and off the field, as that sets the club up well for the long term.

It’s ridiculous. City have spent only a little more than the likes of rags and Chelsea yet we’re the only ones “cheating” and have an “unlimited budget.” City spend=ruining football. Liverpool spend and shatter the previous records for Keeper and Defender and they are “only investing into their squad” or “trying to bridge the gap to City.” Unfortunately we’ll continue to hear this but it does bother me even though it shouldn’t.

These new leaks are fake news imo. So they are going to open an investigation into us based on hacked/stolen confidential e-mails? Haha. Like the Ramos doping claims, it’s full of shit. Don’t see us getting any kind of ban and if there was even a remote possibility of a European ban I think the club would already be on the full offensive, taking this German newspaper and anyone involved to court.

City are sitting tight and watching how this plays out. We know we hold some good cards and are acting like a poker player with a good hand. The charges amount to nothing more than the emotions of a beaten opponent and legally won’t stack up. UEFA are also keeping their powder dry (they know they can’t face City across the court room both from a legal perspective or a financial one) - so this is being played out behind closed doors. The stuff in the press is just the cartel clubs upping the anti because they know things are NOT going their way. This will fizzle out but City need to put a marker down with some elements of the press who jump on the bandwagon too quickly and print untruths. Today I’d go after the Sun and Lawton at the Mail and show no mercy. Our policy of being nice to the press isn’t working. We need to be ruthless and create a clear operating model -if you want access to the Manager and the Players - here’s the rules. Print what you like but we won’t talk to anyone who prints untruths. Remember we are big news - Premier League Champions - they need us more than we need them and whatever we do the Klopp love-in will continue unabated abated. Anyone who watches Sunday Supplement - god forbid can see that with a few exceptions the British football press pack are a bunch of freeloading spivs; wholly tied to the establishment and possessing only a few brain cells between them.

booing and the poznan would be better

Plus a you can stick your champions league up your ....

If you want hypocrisy, us trying to win the premier league for a consecutive year is bad for football. Can’t remember that being said when the rags and dippers were winning it regularly. Need to fight this!

Next we’ll be told Daniel Sturridge was only helping out poorer members of his family and promoting their welfare by giving them a few innocent betting tips!
