Mentalblue, Dortmunds coefficient of 31.05 will be adjusted before next seasons CL is started IE their country's contribution will be added to their total plus 4 qualifying points meaning they will be on 49 - 50 points for next season. Now I know other teams also get the added points but its extremely likely Dortmund will end of in pot 3, some know all fucker doubts this and is seemingly the Euro sage underestimating the chances of Dortmund in pot 3, well we will see!

I don't claim to be an expert, but I can be bothered to at least get the basics of how this system works.

Lots of qualifying games to be played but Dortmund more likely to be in Pot 4 unless there are a series of upsets...

Scoobyblue, at the moment there are 27 teams qualified for the CL with higher coefficients than Dortmund once next seasons points are adjustedIE 20% for the member association and 4 for direct entry to the group stage. I will eat my bowler hat if all the potential group three teams make it to the group stage meaning if only four fail (which is almost guaranteed) Dortmund will be in pot 3.

Sorry to rain on your parade as City's number one authority on all things Champions League but you really need to try harder.

All this year's European competitions are finished. Therefore nobody can get any more points that affect the 2012/2013 rankings. Any points that Dortmund pick up by going trough the qualifying stages will affect the 2013/2014 rankings.

Check out the link that Scooby Blue has provide, it does all the work for you and has already calculated all the rankings including the country part and has already worked out the likely pots.

Dortmund could get into Pot 3 next season but, as Scooby says, it will be because 4 of the teams above them in the rankings fail to get through the qualifiers and all the unseeded teams get through instead - not because of any change to their coefficient.

I don't know how how I can explain it to you if you don't understand, the points are adjusted at the end of each qualifying, group, knock out matches and when all 32 group teams are known they will have a revised coefficient BEFORE the draw is done.

As I said it will be a fucking minor miracle if Dortmund end up in pot 4.

Sorry mate your wrong all co efficient points now added, the list and points as they stand will be the points taken for the draw for 12/13 season.

If all 4 english clubs go straight into the group stages, then somewhere there must be a club that was going straight into the group stages but now have to win a qualifying round. I wonder who it is?
