Champions League Final | Istanbul or could it be moved?

Depends how many are the €70 & €140 ones we get, cannot see mamy paying any more for it

reasonably priced we could sell 50000 I reckon
50,000 is tad on adventurous side , 5,000 of that number can’t be arsed going most home games .
20,000 will be plenty considering costs involved .

I noticed yesterday at Salzburg they seem to have daily flights to Istanbul. Possible cheap option as a connection.

Reckon the club will organise flights like last Porto?

Reckon it’d be a horrible 24 hours or an overnight stay?! Starting to consider ideas just in case…

True enough. I can't and won't pay above £200 but anything below that and I am in. Thought of sharing a twin room with my old man for a few nights is causing me more anxiety than the semi finals, mind.
I know the feeling! Even worse he doesn’t drink! We went to Alicante for Villareal in 2012 I think, beautiful weather, came to the pub with me and asked the barmaid for a pot of tea ffs! And gave out about how much I was drinking for the rest of the evening! I’ll still bring him with me though.

Have to imagine they'll almost certainly put flights on if we make the final.

If you fly out nice and early you can get there for midday-early afternoon. Even if you dont fly until closer to midday you are still getting there with a few hours to spare. few hours pre match to soak it in is all you need before getting to the ground. Kick off is 10pm local time, it's going to be midnight before its done, closer to 1am if we were to win with all the presentations etc. overnight stay won't be neccesary for most, straight back to the airport from the ground, travel back in the early hours when the airport will be largely empty of normal passengers and they'll have more wiggle room to deal with lots of flights, kip on the 4 hour plane journey back if needed before getting back to Manchester for day break. 24 hour job not too much different to some of the longer league away days with night kick offs.

I personally love Istanbul as a City. Had a season ticket most of my life but had to give up after the covid deferral as my business went bust in lock down and I’d just moved house with a 6 month old and and 18month old.

Back on my feet now, have booked a hotel. Will find flights by hook or by crook. I’m just concerned about getting a ticket. Sounds like it might be easier than expected. Fingers crossed.

Note of warning, it can take hours in a cab to cross istanbul. Especially on a Saturday.

Both the club and independent companies will charter as many flights as they can get hold off or otherwise hardly anyone can get there.

I think we have a big global fan base now and people would fly in for this game from all over the world The CL crowd is very different they Prem games. We will definitely sell out for this even if only 10,000 are ST holders. Big game to get through first though. They are masters in this comp.

I hope it stays in Istanbul and I hope the club doesn't put any free flights on.
It brings out all those who generally can't be arsed to schlep all over Europe during the qualifying campaign, but come out in their droves for a 'free' day trip.
They'll devour the 20k tickets that the club will get.
First European away as a final?
That's just not right.

It’s going to happen anyway mate. The supporters clubs get a good share of tickets and loads of first timers would get them. I’ve absolutely no problem with the supporters clubs share of tickets but genuinely feel for a European final they shouldn’t get any. Points criteria, length in years of season card on or off cup schemes etc Should get first dibs if we make it there. Just my opinion.

Mine is everyone what’s done the leg work through group stages/ knockouts etc should get first dibs fuck anything else

How much would the tickets go up when finalists are announced? Currently around £200-300 to fly from London? Would we expect this to double/triple? Debating whether to gamble.

More than doubled to sold out within HOURS of the Real Madrid tie being over, if City go through. Then based on demand, BA will add more flights (at a premium cost) from both Manchester & London.

But, there are very good connections from all over Europe to Istanbul, so with the exception of via Italy, you should have plenty of reasonably priced options.

I fly in on the Friday after an overnight in Athens and then leave on the Monday to Milan [emoji15] That flight might be fun !

NOTE : Turkish Airlines have economy fares where you pay a few quid extra for the ability to cancel and get 80-90% back.

the same with away tickets,if you're rich enough to have a box you get any away prem ticket you want.could be your first season supporting city, you could be giving your tickets from your box to someone that doesn't even support city.
