Champions League Final | Istanbul Travel - Good to hear routes etc.

best route at the moment 16.30 pm shows 38 km/50 minutes. since there is traffic at the moment.
the shortest route is like 25km but it takes more time at the moment.

so, it will depend on matchday, about the hour. you ll probably go there after 17.00 pm i assume. so the best route will be 38km/50 minutes (maybe a little less time)

from taxi drop off, i think you ll walk max 300metres for the southern side.
metro station is in the north.
cheers.
Thanks but with matchday traffic will this potentially take much longer?

A week today, my trip starts!

A couple months ago, a friend came to me and asked if I was free for a week away somewhere. We both work in hospitality, so would jobs are demanding at times.

We were looking at an all inclusive place, chilling by the pool. I said I was off from Thursday 8th - Thursday 15th and was going to be potentially occupied for the final on the weekend.

We decided to book somewhere in Bodrum, with a trip to Istanbul for me on the weekend, if we got to the final. An affordable price of £600 for the week away.

Worst case - we don’t get the final and I’ve a nice week away.
Best case - we get the final and I’ve potentially the best week of my life.

Another factor - I go to the games with my Dad, who is set to be visiting family on the south coast of Turkey for a few weeks, who could also get an internal flight to Istanbul.

Arrives the Bayern Munich home game, where we demolish them and after a draw away, it sets us up for a semi final tie vs Real Madrid. We all know what happened last year.

First leg Semi Final. Real Madrid away. A well fought 1-1 having been behind.

Second leg Semi Final. Real Madrid home. One of the most dominant performance you’re going to see.

I booked my internal flights from Bodrum to Istanbul.

Saturday 10th flight 7am flight to Istanbul to watch the blues in a champions league final.
Sunday 11th flight 7am flight back to Bodrum for the rest of my holiday.

I’ve got my ticket with my Dad, who is getting into Istanbul airport at the same time as me.

We’re going to Istanbul. We’re going to beat United. We’re going to beat Inter. We’re going to win the treble.

ohh, one more thing,

i ve bought 30 torches (in blue) for the matchday, for nevizade...i ll keep a few for my self, and distrubute the rest to fans in nevizade. torches are a tradition in turkey, they are safe. and great. a torch will increase the effecitiveness of a chant x10 times.
anyone needs more torches, you may find in Eminönü, or Kadıkoy. also other fireworks.
i lived in amsterdam for 5 years. the best thing in amsterdam is the fireworks in new years eve. dutch people go crazy with fireworks in new years eve, it is only allowed there on that day.
torches are great :)) not allowed in the stadium, for sure :))

Class - can I have one?

in an ordinary saturday it may a take a little less time; most people also work in turkey on saturdays.
on matchday, my idea is: i really dont know. but 70k fans; most of them will use public transport; so it will not affect the traffic much. so; not much longer, maybe a little longer time on matchday.

but guys, you can never trust traffic in istanbul. never.... accidents may happen, anything can happen. so make your plans accordingly. always put some delay time on your plans.

cheers.

If it's on time I think you have 7 hours until kick off which is 10pm.local time.
Cheers, I'm sure it will be fine, just don't want to miss any of the game. Price is pretty high for that flight so guessing a few blues have booked on

Any mode of transport is a worry. People saying go the day before but that could be cancelled or delayed too.

Just say them mate, we call United cunts all the time. We will paint that street blue next weekend.
:) gala fans also call them cunts since 1993. this is 1993 game, champions league play off. defeated them on way goals and go to champions league ( 8 teams only that year - then uefa changed the status and increased the number of teams in champs league to 16, since we defeated them - it was a big suprise). great day. they can not forget that day.
this chant means ''utd, kunt, be careful''

Haha love it. Is the bad feeling and relationship with Fenerbahce more serious than with Besiktas? As a Gala fan.

Is anyone on the Edinburgh to IST arrives 17:10? Also most importantly how much is a pint roughly?
