I’d just book it mate. My mate stand in Sultanahmet a few years ago and loved it. I think Taskim Sq will be a bit more lively as I believe that’s the more modern side of Istanbul.Was looking at a hotel(grand bazar) mate, came in pretty cheap for 4 nights, why would you not recommend it? Thanks

i recommend Kadıkoy hotels (or Besiktas), there are cheap hotels there also. I dont recommend staying at Fatih. Fatih is really problematic lately guys; too many refugees... no turks, no tourists anymore. believe me.Was looking at a hotel(grand bazar) mate, came in pretty cheap for 4 nights, why would you not recommend it? Kadikoy seems a bit far away from everywhere else to me. It’s definitely adds a bit of time on the trek back from the stadium anyway.i recommend Kadıkoy hotels (or Besiktas), there are cheap hotels there also. I dont recommend staying at Fatih. you can go to Fatih from Kadıkoy easily via boat or metro. Stay at a cheap hotel at Kadıkoy Center. You will thank me later :)
Besiktas is great. Kadıkoy is not far, with metro. Same distance (timewise, maybe you lose 10 minutes max) if you are using metro. I don’t mean to be flash here but I don’t mind paying a little bit extra for a bit of added luxury and convenience. Not everyday we get to see City in a European Cup final. Obviously everyone is different and you’re just trying to help.
Besiktas does look really nice though.

I am doing the same route but Friday- Monday. I paid £50 more.I've managed to book flights for just £250 Thursday - Monday. Fly from Birmingham to Antalya and back for £194 and then the internal return flights to Istanbul were only £66.
