Champions League Final | Istanbul Travel - Good to hear routes etc.

So decided to throw caution to the wind kept trying the sportsworld website as they said they may have cancellations and a single room popped up and I’ve booked it. Just have to hope I get a ticket now. I have 15000 points and am on the CL scheme.
Just before I said a prayer and said if one comes up like a miracle only let it come up if we are going to win!!! And it did.
Monday 1 pm you're in.

Ticket sorted today- going Liverpool to Sofia (Thursday to Monday). Sleeper train from Sofia to Istanbul on Friday evening. Overnight bus back from Istanbul to Sofia on Sunday evening. A couple nights in decent hotels as the other two nights will be shit nights probably on train/bus respectively. £330 including accommodation, flights, train/bus and match ticket. Buzzing an understatement

We were going to do the train but couldn't find an online booking, it seemed to be book over there at the station, which we thought could be a bit of a gamble with a lot heading that route and not too many trains a day.
We're flying to sofia and getting the all night bus to Istambul which seems to be just as quick as the train with plenty of buses from what we've read.

I’m flying Friday afternoon from Manchester to Dalaman.
Got the first out of Dalaman to Istanbul for about £40.
Fly back about 10am Sunday morning.

I'm hoping the flights will be lively.
I'm not a fan of flying at the best of times although lot better than I used to be so now just don't like landing and bad turbulence.
But I usually stick to going to Spain where it's only 2 hours or so.
4 hours is going to be really boring, especially as I'm on my own.
Zero chance of me sleeping on a plane even when I stay awake all night before flight home on Sunday morning.
To be honest I hate flights that are “lively” I flew to Prague on a Friday night from Liverpool and it was horrendous. 95% lads on stag trips. I much prefer a flight where everyone is quiet/asleep!

Quick question on connecting flights. If it’s a long wait in the connecting airport, is it ok to leave and spend some time in the city before heading back to the airport later?

Recently I flew to Dubai on Emirates. The flight was full of ‘lads’ going on a golfing holiday. They were extremely loud and hogged the bar all night. I could neither sit at the bar or sleep.
