I'd have loved it to have been given, but the ball was not under control. Not a pass. Therefore not offside. It took a long time of chewing over the footage to make a decision but it was the right decision.
So when Fabinho intentionally slid in to win the ball, then wins the ball like he intended, it shouldn’t matter in the slightest where the ball ends up. Konate even gets the ball first, surely that then ignores the Madrid players touch. Every ex player last night including gerrard and owen all said it should be a goal. It’s not a deflection off Fabinho. He won the ball as intended when he started making that movement

Rewatching the Vinicius goal, what in the ever loving fuck was Van Dijk doing? Harry Maguire would've been embarassed

Not sure how sliding in and winning a tackle is classed as a ‘deflection’ tbh.
Exactly, if you're sliding in you're looking to play the ball, that should have been discussion over and goal given, bent as fuck really, UEFA should explain why the goal was disallowed for clarification

What he always does, everything he can to avoid having to actually do some defending. Laporte got slaughtered for not engaging with vinicius whilst also trying to cover in a 3 vs 2 against them, VVD had 2 defenders covering him and he still chose not to engage.

The media narrative this morning appears to be yes, we acknowledge there were thousands of ticketless fans descending on a stadium that was subject to an horrific terrorist attack in the not too distant past and yes, as a direct consequence, action by the authorities resulted in congestion which in turn delayed entry to holders of legitimate tickets. However, there's a small problem with this version of events in that it doesn't correspond with a well worn agenda requiring that the dippers are found to be blameless regardless of their culpability. So, here we are again. We'll spin the story such that the blame lies squarely with the Paris police and Stade de France authorities. Sound familiar? A coincidence surely.
Question is, why are there never these problems with any other club, anywhere?
Or in this case, at the other end of the very same stadium on the very same night.
Tough one, that.
