Champions League pots

We don't deserve any more to be honest.

I still think the Champions of the top leagues should be automatically placed in pot one. Obviously that won't be us nest season but would have been this.

We need to start improving our European co-efficient to be sure of less difficult group placings.
Absolutely spot on.
have to agree with this, 1st place in pot 1 and 4th place in pot 4 is how it should be, i dont see why history in the competition should give you a bit of a boost if you've had a below average season i.e us or united finishing 4th.

Porto PSG Malaga got good draws from shit pots so let's hope we get lucky 3rd time?! Surely we can't get shafted again... Erm...
Correct 3rd pot might get us an easier group who knows ?

More importantly we've not qualified yet, so lets not get ahead of ourselves, there is much work to do, and we have to play all our rivals for a place yet.

I've stopped giving a shit. Pot 1, Pot 4, whatever.

If the best we can do in Europe is barely beat a soon-to-be-relegated Villareal on our home patch, and beat them away after their squad was decimated from injuries, and beat a reserves Bayern Munich side at home... then what does it matter what pot we get placed in? If, by miracle, we make it out of a group it seem to reason that we'll be immediately knocked out anyways.

Worrying about the group difficulty before things like "how to fuck did we only take a point off Ajax???" is putting the cart before the horse.

And this is why I'm not so crazy about Mancini staying. His record in Europe is really poor and shows no signs of adjusting his tactics which means another group stage exit next season unless something changes.
Edit: Although we did manage to beat Porto, who are a good side, home and away. Albeit it was in Europa.

You can't have it both ways, if your assessment of Mancini is based on results, a pretty good benchmark, and maybe the only one that matters, you must also acknowledge the phenomenal domestic success he has had at every club.

While you pick and choose which set of results you want, your views will be easily discredited.

And this is how City players have to approach it. We were far too timid and relied too much on the quality in the team. The quality still has to deliver. We should not have come away from the two games v. Ajax with only one point. If you look at CL teams that make the knockout everyone presses, injects pace, and, of course, technical ability and real class!

Yep, whatever you think about the fairness of the pot system we don't deserve to be anywhere but in a group of death. All we can hope for is that it is a little kinder than the last two years.

As always, the other clubs won't like having City in the group but we need to turn in performances that turn their fears into a reality instead of ours.

As long as Arsenal qualify we get 1 of:

Barcelona
Real Madrid
Bayern
Porto
Inter

If Inter don't qualify, Valencia.

If Valencia don't qualify, Atletico Madrid.

If Arsenal don't qualify:

Barcelona
Real
Bayern
Porto
Inter
Valencia

If Inter don't qualify, Atletico.

If Valencia don't qualify, Shaktar.

Also note, we will be in the same pot as Milan, so won't face Balotelli.
