It's got to be Kolarov. With Clichy back in form and we've got so many players who could 'do a job' there it's the most logical choice by far. Added to that that he's reverted to lazy half arsed performances after a huge improvement last year so i don't think we'll miss him at all.

Kolarov or Jovetic, with Sagna, Zaba and Mangala all capable of playing left back we don't need Aleks,

Similar with Jovetic, we have Dzeko, Aguero, Bony, Nasri, Silva etc.

Today or tomorrow we find out for sure.

Either way when Barca game comes there will be a 18 man match squad and in lucky case if we had no injuries 3-4 players would miss the match squad anyway.

Probably Pelle should already put himself in that position if every fit how he choses the match squad for the first Barca game. Obvisouly injuries will happen and mess up the plan even maybe between the two Barca games but a decision has to be made.

I can see him starting the first home game with Yaya, Fernando, Fernandinho all playing so surely we need CM on bench too that would be Milner. Nasri/Silva/Aguero all starting too. Clichy-Kompany-Demichelis-Zaba could be the defence or Sagna maybe and Hart of course.

Bench could be Caballero, Sagna, Mangala, Milner, Navas, Bony, Jovetic.

This case Dzeko, Kolarov both miss out on the squad. If Pelle thinks the same way its clear that he has to axe either Kolarov or one of Dzeko/Jovetic.

But karma could be a woman like he decides its Kolarov and next game vs Hull Clichy gets injured for 2 months. I think there is no way to change CL squad after...

It is not the impact on the team but the message it sends to the player dropped. Within our 16 foreign players there are a few out of form and currently on the fringe of the team and you can make an argument that we can live without any one of them however they won’t see it like that. Someone has probably been called in today to be told they are dropped from the CL and that is going to hurt especially for the more established candidates. It would be a massive psychological blow and can only really start the ball rolling for an exit if they are seen as surplus to requirements.

I'd leave Yaya out. For one thing he's not available for one game and for another, we looked much better without him in the two CL games he's missed. Also a punishment for his utter stupidity in getting that ban in the first place.

Yes leave out our best/most influential player we have for the biggest games we have had to date, makes sense.

Really? Imagine we beat barca you need players like yaya in big qf, sf and finals! Think kolarov/dzeko are up for the chop!
