Champions League Squad - Jovetic Out (Updated Page 36)

To be honest I think this reflects atrociously on our transfer policy. We're dropping a player (likely taking a huge hit on the transfer fee) who could yet become one of the best in Europe simply because we have bought players that mean there's no room for him.

It's hard to see the wisdom in the Caballero transfer at all now.

I doubt it's a great enticement for any players tempted to join the club who aren't guaranteed starters.

Lets not go crazy. It's more than possible this is based on his injury record instead of Bony being "Bony, the record striker last season".

He can't expect to be injured for the best part of 18 months, score only few goals and still make the lineup. Besides these are special circumstances are our squad is limited for the season with the FFP ruling. Under normal circumstances both Jov and Bony would make the team.

So I don't think it's harsh at all and that he'll understand this, talented as he is. Maybe MP made a special deal with him that he would start more league games in return or it's also possible that he's lined up to be part of a Pogba deal.

Knock on effects of this decision :
Jovetic will be gone in the summer and will be deadwood for the rest of the season.
His fellow Balkans, Dzeko and Kolarov, will feel empathy with his "harsh" (in their eyes) treatment and their performances will reflect this in support of their teammate.
Strking/attacking options from the bench will be reduced by his exclusion.
Caballero or Boyata ahould have been axed.

Boyata.....???

TWEET ALL ABOUT IT!

BLUE WITH AN OPINION MAKES HIS OWN THREAD WHEN THERE IS A PERFECTLY GOOD ONE ALREADY!

Become a mod an merge it my friend.

State your thoughts on the subject matter and stop being a troll good man.

Noticed you and stoner died a natural death on VK (lol).

Maybe you can bring it back to life (LOL).

Read Mooney's article my good man he knows a bot more about the caper than you do.

Don't reply again because you don't know how to.
Is the difference between a (lol) and a (LOL) one of style or substance?

Love it gordon , you made my day.

Actually in this case its neither , look at the reply I got and see if you can get my cryptic message.

Case is the word here ( sounding more like Tolmie by the minute without youtube to go with it ).

Not easy at first but I think you CAN figure IT out

Boyota is home grown so as JM he is not in the equation. Chances are we will only play 1 up top probably at home as well as away and you have nasri and silva who can play that system 10 times better than jovetic. In addition possession is crucial in european games and Jovetic is the worst player in the team for giving it away with his flicks and tricks.

I agree that Caballero is the weak link but he is in a position of strength as they can't risk having to turn to Wright

I like the lad and think he can play but I think this combined with the Bony transfer mean his days are numbered. He's a real good player but probably doesn't suit our possession game, in a similar way to the way Tevez didn't once we started becoming a passing team.

I think leaving him out is probably the right decision.

Yeah .... personally I'd have gone with Kola but i said from the start that it'd be one of the Balkans.

Feel a bit sorry for him however that's life. He'll be paid well until the summer, will no doubt get some PL game time, and in the summer will probably get a good move to Italy.

What's with this Pogba deal?

If its a goer whether Jovetic plays in Chumps or not over two legs when we have YAYA out for the first I cannot understand.

Why not play Wright if Hart goes under?

Much stranger things have happened over the journey.

Sides have played with one keeper in the rnd of 16 and beyond.

1. Happy with that at the end of the season
2. Fucking delighted with Kolarov leaving, Dzeko as collateral I can cope with
3. You talk like they have been quality all season (except Lampard they offer next to nothing and no difference will be felt)
4 Boyata is our HG player so couldnt have been axed

Bollocks. Absolute bollocks.

Hart gets injured and we're down to Richard Wright if we leave out Caballero. Boyata is only in ANY of our squad lists because we need to meet the home grown quotas. It's also impossible to predict how Kolarov and Dzeko will respond to the situation because taken in isolation, we've probably only got two more games in Europe this season.

Think it should have been Dzeko as he's almost exactly the same kind of player as Bony, just inferior and Jovetic's 6ft can play his role too if needs-must.

Creativity is actually something we often lack so I think Jovetic would have come much more in handy than Dzeko, but I suppose Dzeko is also the much more likely of the two to throw a hissy fit.

I understand what youre saying but all three will be gone in the summer and i'm pretty sure they know it,so I doubt their attitude,as a result of this new episode, will be much different to what it was.
