It's how the CHAMPION'S League should be.

The fact that 4th place Arsenal were seeded ahead of us, the Champions twice in the last 3 seasons, was ridiculous.

We should devote 100.000000% effort on winning the league this year now imho. Forget the CL this year - we are very unlikely to top the group and then we will be fucked in the knockouts even if we do get through.

So let's not allow the CL this year to distract us from our one and only target: We MUST retain our title and win the league.

So same again next season? Forget the CL and retain title.

No, because if we win the league this year and are then in Pot1, we can have a right good crack at the CL.

It's a step in the right direction at least. it might shake the groups up for a season or 2 but 3/4 seasons on everybody will be complaining again about the same boring groups because of the not playing teams from the same league ruling. Why not just scrap that rule all together and have a completely random draw.? I'd even go as far as to scrap the seedings too. Yeah you might get a true group of death scenario where 2 European giants go out and a group containing minnows but it would be much more exciting to watch imo.

It's possible but less likely. I'm with Chippy boy on this one. The PL has to be the priority this season.
Next year with the new BT deal the CL will be much more lucrative and maybe that's when we can finally
go deep into this competition. It makes sense for the club to take this approach especially since we have
made a poor start to this season's CL.
