Maybe this is the first sign of the cartel power inevitably being weakened. The owners of those clubs can't be happy with this, so, assuming they complained, this must be the first time ever they were ignored..

PSG and Bayern are perfectly happy with this. Pretty much guaranteed pot 1 year after year, unless they flop badly in their domestic leagues.

Why should anybody want to be in pot1 now? The dangerous teams are in pot2.

It is bullocks to believe that the Champions of the top 4 to 7 leagues are more dangerous than no. 2-4 of the big countries... or the clubs that have the most European experience. You have more chance to get an easier group if you are in pot 2... I remember that especially the clubs that won the league in the big countries the first time and that did not have any European experience were pretty harmless in their first one or two years in Europe...

Would be much better to sack the league element and go straight to knock out , would be no need for seedings and crowds would be much greater than the boring league games

Incidentally, was this expected news? I hadn't realised this was a possibility but has great potential implications for us. Can't get my head around any good news from that bunch of c*$nts... perhaps they are beginning to suck up to us with our sponsorship and CFA news on the immediate horizon.

UEFA originally mentioned it as part of a raft of changes. The insidious thing is though, it was bundled with FFP and IMHO is an attempt by the crooked bastards to deflect from the corrupt shite that surrounds FFP.

Their decision to automatically seed the champions of the 7 top European leagues is a good move, but why now? It's part of the smoke and mirrors that is FFP.

The biggest problem has been the number of English teams in Pot 1

This meant that we had to get one of the big boys in Bayern, Real or Barca in our group

So even if we are in Pot 2 or 3 next season, the fact that with only one English club is in the top group, this should give us a better chance of avoiding teams like Bayern.

Will it also mean If we dont win the league and finish runners up then we will be in pot 3 the way seedings are ?

Does this actually make a difference because even if we make Pot 1 we could still end up with either Barca or Real whilst the likes of the Rags would still end up playing against the likes of Basel (if they ever make it back).

It looks like a decent change but at the end of the day, the outcome will still be the same. Or am I reading it wrong and they have scrapped all other seedings and television choice?
