And whats the size of television deal has to do with our chances in CL?

None as such but it is financially better to progress to the later stages next season rather than this.
The priority therefore should be to win the PL this season to ensure pot 1 seeding.
I'd still try to get out of the group stages this year but if we fall into the EL I'd play the kids if we are
still in contention for the PL title.

Champions League

Good god, UEFA are looking at changing the seeding. They have finally acknowledged that the champions of England should automatically go into Pot 1. Have we been greasing a few palms?

Re: Champions League

With no CL for the scum this year they'll want to give them every opportunity for an easy draw when they get back in.

They've got it fixed for Chelski winning the title then....

it doesnt matter what seedings we get , we will always get at least 2 teams from either spain, germany, italy, holland, in our group , until sheik mansour gets with the programme , i am sure platini , gill and rummenigge and their cohorts would appreciate a nice rolex.

Some smug fucks on here getting all smart arsed about this announcement as if it proves UEFA are happy to be all even handed re City & are making the system more 'fair' because of it.

Bollocks. It's clubs like Bayern influencing the UEFA execs that they have a decent chance of facing City in every draw because Chelsea, Arse, Utd etc are in pot 1 & can't be drawn against an English team. So Bayern or Real/Barca are much more likely to get a 'group of death' than the English teams, every year.

It helps them, by handicapping the English teams slightly. For us, if we don't win the league, it makes it probably even worse. If they really wanted to make it fair, they would drop the seeding system for everyone.
