Chelsea (A) Post Match Thread

When ratboy said we had been scabby this season it showed his hate for us is always just simmering under the surface , the Rags are scabby every week with nailed on dodgy penalties , Ratboy and Spit need to be replaced , Sky got rid of Le Tissier , THompsons nose and the jock in one fell swoop on soccer saturday . Time for new pundits who have the intellegience to leave their bias to one side before opening their gobs.
I'm gonna give neville the benefit of doubt and think he meant to say 'scrappy'

Three difficult and superb finishes won us this game.

Hopefully KdB will start registering more often now his open play duck is broken for the season.

I agree with the OP that Taylor had a decent game. But why on earth did he let them take that indirect free kick for the back pass from outside the box? It should have been taken from where Steffen picked the ball up.

for clarity the back pass rule means the free kick is taken from where the goalie handles it, and if it is inside the six yard box, it is moved to the six yard box line. The ref got it wrong, in many ways, for that 'backpass'
I was screaming at the TV as to how can the free kick be outside the box. Surely that's the sort of mistake that a level seven ref makes not a supposed top class (cough cough) one. I hope the assessor noticed and he is downgraded

When I saw the line up, and the radical switch in positions, I thought that Pep
would either screw this up, or amaze us. After the match, the claim that Guardiola is the best coach on earth was confirmed.

Great team performance and contributors so far have got it right. Just a word about Bernardo: he played in exactly the same position and exactly the same way as he did for Monaco when they beat us there. Back to his best? I certainly hope so. Think Modric at his best for Real, BS is as good if not better. He keeps the team ticking at pace with the emphasis on breaking lines with clever forward passes and buzzing around the midfield.Very encouraging.

Gundo was the player Pep wants him to be. Brilliant!! He was a real threat. Kev looked sluggish, but still has those killer passes to unlock them. Foden, well, what energy and desire. His goal was absolute class. If Kane or one of the other media darlings does that, there would be a wankathon of global proportions.
Diaz and Stones will be furious with Zinch for fucking up their clean sheet record.
I’m the harshest critic of Raz, but he looked like the Raz of old, burning past defenders for fun, great to see.
Bernardo was a real pest. His work rate and constant movement must be an absolute nightmare for his marker.

Please please please let’s have this intensity and desire v The Rags. It will be beautiful to watch them squirm.
