This game is tough call for us , and it's gonna take a very special City performance to win it ....

and quite frankly we haven't seen all that many of those from our boys at Stamford Bridge.

As far as i'm concerned , with the form Chelsea are currently in , a point would be a very good result for us , and all three would be incredible.

Chelsea , together with Spurs, have the joint second best defensive record in the Premiership ....... hard to believe that Southampton have the best !

Chelsea will repeat the same embarrassing performance they did at the swamp. The sort of performance that'd make David Moyes proud. If he parked the bus against that shower of shite, he's almost certain to do it against us, even at home.

Another instalment of Aguero v Luiz. Have to watch Ivanovic and his fouls as well.

Was thinking a rested Milner would come in for this, but maybe Navas will be useful against Chelsea's back 4 which isn't the quickest?

Lets be realistic these are a bloody good team with some very very good players.

Id go 451 to control the midfield. If we do our usual 442 with 2 in 'proper' midfield these will bum us all over the show. We need to swarm like fuck all over the likes of Mata, Oscar and Hazard and not let them get a sniff.

Hart
Richards
Kompany
Nastasic
Clichy
Fernandinho
Toure
Milner
Silva
Nasri
Aguero.

Fern and Miler to do the dirty/mithering/tracking type work. Yaya, Silva and Nasri to run the attacking phase of midfield.

Bring the Beast and Navas on lateish if we need a goal.

I started the season with the worry that Navas and 2 up top meant that teams could dominate our midfield, but it hasn't worked out that way.

West Ham had 6 in midfield last season, and look what happened there. Also look at the Derby.

We don't always have to match up 1 for 1 with our opponents. Let them worry about our game, and play to our strengths.

Played them 3 times last season and outplayed them everytime 2 wins and a draw down there go for the throat and they, ll shit it there ageing defence and fat frank in midfield won, t be able to keep tabs on out attacking players movement!!

I think we beat them 5 times if you include the post-season US tour.

Chelsea are a better team now and will fancy this one and that might work to our advantage as they come on to us and we hit on the break.

'Fat' Frank ain't so fat. Never seen him with a decent 'pot' and no idea where that nickname comes from.

It's going to be our toughest game of the season. 1 point will be very acceptable and 3 would be superb.

-- Thu Oct 24, 2013 9:35 pm --

Toughest in the Prem of course. Munich was and will be the toughest.

Doh !

milner had a good game the last time we met chelsea in the EPL. he should be given a start over navas imo.

given that chelsea have no pace upfront, we should play with an extremely high line and try to completely dominate the game.
