Chelsea (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Anyone else notice the kid run on the pitch as the half time whistle went?

Gave the steward's a good run around before being caught short of any players.

What compels people to let their children do that? And at half time too. Not worth the ban, the immediate kicking out of the stadium and the legalities that come with it all for a moment of nothing.

On the game, Mahrez great, walker too.

Not a huge fan of Gomez, seems a big downgrade on Zinny but it also took Zinny a couple of seasons to get motoring.
Could now be a ban for his parents.

Sometimes I suspect that this 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 hybrid formation with overlapping fullbacks and inverted wingers were Pep's original idea during pre-season.

Formation

Grealish/Alvarez - Halaand/Alvarez - Mahrez/Foden
--------------- KDB/Foden/Gundo--------------
------Bernado/Gundo---- Rodri/Philips------------
Cucurella/Zinchenko - Laporte/Dias - Stones/Dias - Walker/Cancelo

However Cucurella transfer did not happen. But we sold Zinny early. Walker Laporte injured and Cancelo lost form. Bernado form was bothered with transfer links at times. KDB fitness drop. Thus Pep came up with that weird 3CB experiment trying to patch things up...

Ideal game against the ideal team really. Chelsea are a mess right now.

Ortega, 6 - Had nothing to do, looked tidy with his feet though

Walker, 8 - that felt good, nice to have the real Kyle back
Akanji, 7 - very little going on but dealt well with what little Chelsea offered
Laporte, 7 - same as Akanji
Gomez, 6 - played alright, couple of nervy moments but Chelsea weren't up to much

Rodri, 8 - so classy, our most important player
Foden, 7 - took his goal well and looked handy throughout
Bernardo, 6 - similar performance to Foden, just didn't get a goal

Mahrez, 9 - excellent free-kick and an excellent penalty, played well in a free role
Palmer, 6 - don't think he'll make it here but didn't do anything good/bad either way
Alvarez, 7 - industrious as always, nice penalty, good to have him back
Uhh.... your view of football is way too simplistic if you rate Bernie that low because he didn't score.

it seems not only is Pep on the forum but Garth Crooks is also loitering around bluemoon.
